Love these videos. I can't imagine looking at a fire truck and saying, "I need to sleep," or "how dare you have your sirens on." I have lived near a fire station most of my life, and have always thought, "I hope they're okay."

I want to thank the fire fighters who responded to my terrible car accident and kept me calm and even made me laugh with some jokes until the ambulance came to take me to the hospital. They learned I was an equestrian and they said they wanted to take lessons so I was able to give them a business card to come to my barn. Unfortunately they never got the opportunity to come but I want to always thank them

12:03 in case anybody’s wondering the name of that disorder where people tend to eat non-food items. Usually it’s not with things that can hurt you though it wouldn’t be surprising. Usually it’s like clothing, but the name of the disorder where people eat non-food items is called Pica (pie-cah)

When I was 16, I visited my brother in Los Angeles. He was driving us on a wide part of Wilshire Blvd through Beverly Hills when a fire truck started coming up the road behind us, lights and sirens going. And it was going FAST! With 3 lanes of traffic we were in the fast lane and No One would let us move over! The fire truck was getting closer, to the point it started to get scary, and the only thing my brother could do was go faster until he could find a space to move over. With big sighs of relief we finally managed to get to the curb and stop. It took a few minutes for us to calm down before we could continue on our way. Now, whenever I hear a siren I look immediately to see where it's coming from and I. Move. Over.

These videos are like career day, but more honest and detailed

I work in the bakery at a grocery store and one day, i was adding "Happy Birthday" to a cake for a group of firefighters. Halfway through, we heard sirens go off. "Well, there go the firefighters" and just like you two were saying, we just held onto it until they could come back

31:26 I work at a Grocery Store and we sometimes get a small group Fire Fighters coming in to buy food. They seem like nice people and im not sure if they've ever had to rush out of the Store for a Call but they of course always have their Radios on them just in case. We also sometimes get one or two Police Officers coming in to buy food for the Station. But not too often.

I love watching these videos, bringing people in different job roles to share their experiences and perspectives. Thank you!

Great episode! I actually have an interesting idea. It’s be awesome if you could get Caitlin Doughty on your podcast! She’s a mortician who’s been on RU-vid for quite some time now and she’s a big advocate for more green ways of taking care of our dead and you could tell stories and she could answer questions about the deathcare industry. I know people who work in the deathcare industry and there are some wild things that happen sometimes. I think that would be cool to see.

had a time i was driving back from target or something with my sister, saw my neighbors car and we’re like “why arent they moving?” we got out to like check on her and she was like eyes closed, mouth open, everything. for a 17 year old (my sister) and an 11 year old (me) that was scary asf. we called my dad and we were like “dad, our neighbor is like not okay she isnt waking up” he ran out, knocked on the window, nothing. he dialed the 9 and 1. and i knocked loudly on the door and she woke up. it was just jet lag and she fell asleep lmao.

I sometimes worry if my brother (18m firefighter) is ok. A few weeks ago on a medical call he lost someone and stuff. I really hope he doesn’t do anything. I can’t take losing him I’m only 13 and I have definitely struggled with mental health and I know that being happy doesn’t always mean you are happy.

When I saw the video title, I thought it would be something along the lines of those big water planes that usually drop tons of water or chemical Phos-Chek to extinguish the fire... and I thought hmm... well maybe. #shitplane I mean, fires go out when you suffocate them, remove the o2 and that's that - manure could do that - though it'd have to be a lot, cos it is a fuel source, and fires DO start when manure collections combust... but yes, using a manure spreader maschine to cover an encroaching fire is genius, good move, Farmer Dan.

I can't imagine not pulling over for lights or sirens (though I know it happens). I had to stop listening to certain kinds of music in the car because I would hear a siren and pull over and then turn off my radio to see if I could see where it was coming from, only to realize it had been a part of the song. 😊😄

Here's one for you my brother pulled over because the fire trucks were comin so he stopped and the fire truck was going right to the address. He stopped in front of the driveway where the fire trucks wanted to go.

About cats in trees: It totally does happen that they can't get down on their own. To get down, they have to go backwards, that's why it's more difficult than going up. I'm following a guy on RU-vid that rescues all kinds of animals, and he gets called to a lot of cats that are on a tree for several days, but they just can't get down!

The first time my grandma heard me swear was when I was about 15 or 16 (I was very careful around her cus she just doesn't like that kinda language) but we where at our camp site that her aunt owned sating in a cottage. It was Canada day weekend so the people who owned the ouse next to the camp site where setting off fireworks and there was a line of really big trees between there property and the back of the cottage so it was more secluded but kne of them didn't go off straight and went straight threw 2 trees and almost hit one of the wood cottages and I just let out " oh my fing god they could have started a fire " my grandma was more surprised that I said the f word 😂

It baffles me how people can be annoyed at emergency workers for the sirens and lights. Like yes the noise and lights can be annoying at night but there are emergencies to respond to. The only time I really get annoyed about an 'emergency' is when my neighbor across the street is being belligerent and the cops are responding to it. And I get annoyed at the neighbor not the cops. Firemen aren’t the only ones who don’t like kids pulling the fire alarms there are a ton of people like at a hotel it affects everyone the disabled guests like kids with Autism, OVD, Sensory Processing orders , handicapped guests etc ,and affects the employees, all of them everyone . If a kid pulls the fire alarm while I’m in a hotel as a guest they’ll not only have to apologize to the firemen but also to me for causing me to have a panic attack because I am to sensitive to loud noises but if the fire alarm is the kind normal people think are creepy like the voice evacuation ones those I can handle if it has the whoop song it’s the continuous and code 3 sounds that trigger me .

Omg I really hope Mrs Rogers sees this: My cat, Hermione, has been stuck in a tree 3 times. She stayed in there 36 hours, didn't come down. We were helpless and horrified, we called the fire department several times but they refused to come and help. They told me they don't actually do that, and it wasn't a real emergency. We tried calling many services. Finally, arborists came and got her down. And trust me: she WANTED to come down, she was desperate, meowing like crazy. Poor thing. I felt so bad. The arborists charged $275 to get her down. It happened 2 more times because she escaped 2 more times, once because someone cat sitting her left the door open, and once because she dashed out the door and snuck away as someone was leaving, and we didn't see her. We paid like $700 to get her down, and the third time they gave us a discount because we're repeat customers. It hasn't happened in like 4 years now though, we've finally learned how to keep her from escaping and climbing trees (walking her on a leash, giving her an enclosed yard, things like that helped). You'd think she'd learn not to climb so high up the trees after being stuck up there in the rain for over a day, but nope

I don't remember this of course but my mom told me that when I was little I was choking on something I think it was chicken but I was turning blue so she called 911 and firefighters came and saved me and so i have always be so like ooo fire truck because it was something that has came to my house and people came to let me live my life and I'm now 13 years old and still alive (I'm also the same with ooo police car because of funny stories back then that happened at my house)
