We made a Cheetah plate to couple your Fire Maple Petrel HX pot to a Pocket Rocket Deluxe stove. This system has optimal performance and will boil 500 ml using 6.3 grams of fuel. At an 8-mph wind, fuel consumption only increased to 9.2 grams! It's pretty darn robust in the wind, far better than a JetBoil!

I have the Fire Maple Polaris regulator stove which fits the my Petrel pot slots with no modification There is a very small gap between the burner head and the fin assembly, almost unnoticeable. Haven’t tried it it the wind yet, works fine inside.

I have a Snow Peak Lite Max and a 1st gen Pocket Rocket. I assume either will pair well with this pot?

The LiteMax has rivets to extend the arms These rivets are too wide for the Petrel slots. The Original Pocket Rocket will fit, however the burner to pot gap is too large to work in the wind.

The Fire Maple Hornet II is at best a fair weather stove.

Does your adapter, the pocket rocket deluxe and 8oz fuel canister all nest inside?

Well, an 8 oz fuel canist er by itself is not going to fit. A 4 oz canister, adapeter plate and PRD will nest inside the Petrel pot.

@@FlatCatGear I came back to edit my post as I was doing some research I found out it will only nest a 4oz canister along with the adapter plate and PRD lol Ty for replying so fast!

@@lutzmix The Fire Maple Horent 2 ihas horible performance in the wind. Anything above about 2 mph and it suffers.

I ended up getting the pot and my MSR prd fits inside the slots without having to modify the pot, it’s a little tight and you have to place is perfectly but I actually like this because it takes out the possibility of the pot falling off my stove.
