How does a 1 man crew work? That doesn't seem like a great strategy, due to the often dire situations, and the fact they can change on a dime.

That Fire Police driver should have anticipated a vehicle coming to a complete stop there and left enough room between himself and that car to negotiate the hazard. Emergency driving training clearly not up to scratch in the US.

You brits think you know everything.. yeah right
@CymruEmergencyResponder
@CymruEmergencyResponder 3 года назад
@@ihateidiots We actually have advanced driving courses here. It's 4 week full time driving course just to drive an ambulance. In that we learn: high speed driving using the IPSGA System of Vehicle Control, box overtaking, skid control, high speed cornering, emergency drills etc. We are all advanced drivers here. So yes, we do know more when it comes to driving emergency vehicles. The driver I mentioned just showed poor awareness and anticipation.
@CymruEmergencyResponder
@CymruEmergencyResponder 3 года назад
5:39 you use your sirens on the approach, then use them inefficiently and then don’t use them all together when you reach the hazard? What are you playing at?!
@allen480
@allen480 Год назад
Driver discretion. By the way, how come Limey fire apparatus (excuse me, appliances) are never equipped with mechanical sirens? I remember you people only using bells. Ding Dong! Ding Dong! lol
@CymruEmergencyResponder
@CymruEmergencyResponder Год назад
@@allen480 The driver may have discretion but it was just ineffective. Bells went out of use in the late 1960s/early 70s. Two tones can in to use then, and are still used today because they are effective.
