I love how every time someone came at me with the Simorgh Link 3 and Apex Avian today, I had a Lava Golem to slam in their face. When I'm playing 2 in a 50 card deck, and a Dogoran instead of a 3rd one. I also got to experience the Salamangreat ritual of Gazelle magically jumping to my hand after activating Pot of Desires, though it did banish the other 2.
This event has been so fun! No nibiru, veiler, chaos, etc. Been having fun with ursarctic who almost autowins against salamangreat and marincess which are very popular in the event.
@@Honest_Mids_Masher It's not broken strong but yes I have cleared out the initial rewards including the title with ursarctic. It's vulnerable to the big 3 hand traps of the event, ash imperm Maxx, but deck like marincess literally cannot play under serpentrion. And having a hand trap book of moon is actually really good.
Ursartic is a deck of hand trap monsters who can summon themselves during the main phase of either players turn. 3 of the monsters have hand trap effects that can cripple salad turn 1. A book of moon effect, a s/t pop, and a ddcrow like effect. Their boss monster can be particularly annoying to salad, depending on the hand, because it negates the effects of all ed monsters on the field who don't have levels. Salad is an ed focused deck so it only has 1 out in mirage Staleo.
Been playing Rikka all festival, really fun seeing all the archetypes people are picking up for the festival too, kinda hate to see the festival end soon tbh
I played Shiranui, Beetrooper and Diva Icejade Synchro as my 3 decks and had a great time. Going back to the tear grind is fine, but it was nice to have a break and I'm sure I'll enjoy the next event as another breather
@@rivershen677 Sure, though my build technically isnt quite complete. I'd prefer 2 Kosmochlor/3 Enion in my build and to tweak a few other things; I couldn't afford Prima Donna so I was pretty much just turboing Dragite(which was singlehandedly winning me games sometimes, to be fair.) So I'll list what it ideally would be. Main Deck Monsters: 3 diva, 1 gurnards, 1 Yamatoko, 3 Aegirine, 3 Tremora, 1 Acti/Aegirocassis/Kingfisher, 2 Kosmochlor, 3 Maxx C/Ash S/Ts: Duster, Reborn, Prosp, 3 imperm, 3 cradle, 3 Enion, 2 ice barrier, 2 erosion, 2 cbtg, 1 curse, 1 FBG ED: God Slime, Repetiteur, Coral Dragon, Prima Donna, Aura Whale, Dragite, Crocodragon, Baronne, Chengying, Dweller, Kragen,Coral Anemone, Spright Elf, Mistar Boy, Bubble Reef
Unironically the best match I've had this event was my playing Umi Stun against Penguin. If Umi Stun didn't have the floodgate it could still lead to incredibly interesting rogue match ups with how Sea Stealth Attack works and the weird battle phase interactions with Sea Stealth II
@@StormKidProductions I have news for you, it was the best match because Penguins are not affected by the floodgate, so instead of just someone surrendering or having the out, you experienced an actual duel. Congratulations.
This event was literally what got me to get the Salamangreat Structure Deck. I was against it due to it giving 2 copies of Heatleo per purchace that can't be dismantled, but I needed an actual deck to use in the event since all my other decks I played used mostly Light and Dark Monsters.
I loved this event. The secret is that Floo is still great even without Empen, I think I won over two thirds of my games. From stock list, go down 2 Empen and 1 Spell/Trap of choice and go up 1 Floo Continuous Spell, 1 Raiza, and 1 other threat of choice. I went for one of the Simorghs, it was really sus, you should probably just go up another Apex Avian or Raiza instead
I actually expected more Prank-Kids this event. I've been wreaking havoc with them, but I don't see anyone else playing it. Probably because it's Prank-Kids.
@@FakeHeroFang Occasionally folds to Ash, yeah. Between 2 called by, 1 Crossout, and Exceed, Poly, Reborn, etc. There are ways to get through Ash. Ash + any other hand trap is what does it. Or one Ash and you drawing no extension.
This event would have been better if you could ONLY use a single element of the 4 Edit: Here's a fun thought for the "but what about maxx c and ash?" in the replies: cry about it
I am beyond done with Vernusylph. Looping Grand Tusk Dragon and Pankratops is exhausting, not to mention the actual Vernusylph payoffs and the hand trap minigame. Though I much prefer it to anything Umi floodgating.
I've been enjoying playing sky strikers this event. Always fun to try and outgrind even without main deck Raye. Actually feels more playable than in ranked lmao. 5 wins away from completing all the missions but I might need to switch to something else, probably salads since I'm a bit far from completing the normal summon one.
I found that Floo was still pretty good in this event, even with Empen banned. The deck’s still consistent enough that you’re usually able to end on Apex Avian + 1 other piece of interaction, which is enough most of the time. Add to that the resource loop making recovery really easy, Dim Fiss just invalidating some decks when you open it, and the intimidation factor causing a lot of surrenders just at Robina alone, and you’ve got a solid 80-90% win rate.
Before watching the vid. Saw the order of the elements, its Fire, Air, Water, Earth as the cycle order (original series water, earth, fire, air but that only applies to give extra focus to aang as an airbender) Nice reference though, I liked that
I played the whole event with my Going Second Pure Rank 10 Trains deck. Back when I first started playing MD, that was the first deck I made and played, all the way until Exosister was added. (back before Malfa and Returnia) Was a blast to play that deck again after having it sitting there for so long. I just don't really like the Infinitrack/Machina parts of other more widely played generic Earth Machine decks, I just really enjoy the simplicity and quick kills that a bunch of board breakers and pure Rank 10 Trains can bring.
Just speedran the event in the last day (aka the day I'm posting this). It was just a bunch of turn 1 scoops and the very rare """actual""" game. P.s.: by """"actual""" game" I mean "game in which one player manages to put up so many negates and interruptions that the opponent can't play". P.s.2: about half, if not more of my losses were just the opponent opening the earth insect. (Ban this shit)
Played Scrap at first but then went for Rikka sunavalon, not having jasmin sucks, buuuuut I still have a like 85% win rate cause yk, people never negate konkon
How are you negating Konkon? Ash the search doesn't get rid of it, and the tribute is a replacement effect so you can't negate it. You just have to get rid of it before they can use it.
at least the event gave me an excuse to craft Sunavalon Dryantrentiay, although missing Jasmine still really hurts but hey the rikkas can play through Umi control - just finding lethal is gonna be difficult
@@BlackBeartic229 i win against eldlich playing pachy stun :) I like the thrill that if I lose the stun against my opponent I auto lose because I can't recover against all the 30 summons and cards in hand combo decks.
If you think Adamancipator is legitimate meta you are sorely mistaken. Also a deck with moving parts is always better than a dud meant to slog the gamestate.
Meta and boring literally aren't related thing there's nothing wrong with that statement Adamancipator is way more interesting than floodgate control decks
@@KiRAyylmao ah yes setting up 10 negates to stop the opponent from playing entirely,is completely different than setting up a floodgate to stop the opponent from playing entirely. This is revolutionary oh wow
@@shanekarazuki The only reason Adamancipator is not meta is because even meta players find it boring, and casual players find it too consfusing. Adamancipator is one of those solitaire decks that end up in 2000 negates even if you happen to stop a couple of their plays.
I’ll have you know that the most garbage version of PACMAN is also legal. You just can’t play Scarabs, Locusts, or Stealth Bird and instead sit on what few floodgates aren’t banned and battle phase stuff.
