While it's not quite Sushi Burger, we have a thing called Sushi Burritos in the states (especially California), and it is both as silly, blasphemous to both sushi and burrito traditions, and as delicious as it sounds.
like a grocery store themed set that lists suships, nuvelle, madolche, and naturia cards on it. maybe it could ad/set a normal/feild monster/spell/trap from those listed.
In the OCG structures manga one of the characters picked up Nouvelles and is having a "cook-off" duel against a Suship player so the idea is not that far off
The worst part of this festival was the fact that very few people were actually playing ritual decks. It's like people complain about their opponent not letting them play Yu-Gi-Oh, when in reality they never wanted to play it to begin with.
Yeah seriously, most of them tried to circumvent to play non-Ritual decks if possible than try a ritual deck. I myself only have BLS and changed to Blue eyes loaner midway, it's RITUAL EVENT so I'd like to try what Konami intended us to play. But half of the fault is also at Konami not hitting enough of other non-Ritual to be available for event so people can run them, and also that there's not that much ritual decks people wanna go out of their way to play in the first place.
People do this every event but I think in general people just dislike or don't know how to play rituals. Doesn't help almost all their decks are bad so a lot of people don't own one. I ran into a good amount tho, mostly loaners. I was playing Drytron Megalith the whole event then at the end I switched to Vanquish Soul (miserable to play without rock btw) just to quickly grind out the pop cards mission.
@@Capta1nTD Ah yes the 20 pop mission, by that point I don't even need to win so I built deck and threw in a crap ton of board wipe cards like Raigeki, Dark Hole, Feather Duster, Lightning storm, Mirror Force, Torrential, etc. Just want to bomb everything, got like 17 pop first match and even nearly win somehow.
From my experience, it was kinda like this for the first couple days as most of the people who didn't want to play Rituals tried to cheese their way to getting free gems, and then it calmed down and you could actually find consistent Ritual games
too answer teh qeustion posed arounf 11:30 of "how do you out chaos max", its simple with Nouvelles, just tribute it. i won a few matches against chaos max this way. (i havent finished the video so not sure if he does this or not)
Not simple with what he’s running for nouvelles tho. The 5 and the 6 both target when tributing an attack position monster, so the only way he’s getting rid of chaos max with those is by tributing something else with the 5 and using the entry effect of baelgrill to tribute the entire enemy field. Enemy would have to actively play into it and he can’t even do it as a quick effect cuz this pile isn’t running any smaller nouvelles for some reason. Though there’s probably other outs in the deck. Or he hard summons hungry burger with the trap in the grave or something lol.
I wound up playing the Nouvelles loaner deck until I scrounged enough gems from the event to build my own. Sometimes I would play a card like Concours de Cuisine and people would just surrender and I was baffled by this. Took my Nouvelles deck to ranked mode and actually climbed out of gold with it (this is only the second time I've ever done that, first was PUNKs). I think I'm learning!
People surrendered because that loaner turned duels into total slogs. It was despicable to duel against. Not because of strength but because of boredom.
Every. Single. Duel. Every single one against Burger deck just had me putting my dudes in defence to minimize them tagging out FOREVER till I assembled the pieces to blow everything apart simultaneously. It just STALLS. It had no apparent (efficient) win condition, and duels took so long... Everything just searches everything else, including the thing that gives the illusion of the opponent having any influence on proceedings, all to accomplish *nothing* but to waste my time. I hate it. Probably one of my top ten least favorite decks at this time.
@@Excellsionyour opponents must have been new to the deck. It has 2 in-engine ways to put your opponents shit to attack position and if they can climb into the level 3 or 5 before that it effectively becomes a boardwipe. It's really not hard to clear a defense position board, even if it is non-targetable Mikankos. In that case you just have to toolbox your way into the level 2 and make it with it's specific ritual spell to shift all opponents monsters into attack. You can literally set that up while climbing with your pendulum monster as free fodder to even eat the aforementioned Mikanko boards. Sure, that dual setup can take a turn, but not more than that if you have a sufficient amount of enablers. But I've seen my fair share of terrible ritual pilots during the festival as well.
@@Excellsion there are options in the deck to deal with defense positions and they are pretty consistent too. I think it's just people don't know how to make a deck that makes you think more than summon 3 omni negates and pass that a majority of the people playing it can do anything else with it. That and it's a deck that at pure will take at most 3 turns to take down an opponent and a good portion of people that play this game don't want to play this game.
@falloutsearies I am very aware the pilots were terrible. I noticed their effects to change my positions, but apparently, most of the loaner deck users did not. Still made for a dreadful festival. How do you do lethal though? Is it just old-school Sky Striker style "poke a lot" or do you just make Accesscode or something.
I played Prediction Princess for this event, even with Guard Dog banned it was very playable. There is a prediction princess that permanently puts opponent's monsters in defense position without targeting, doing that to Blue eyes chaos max is extremely funny.
At the beginning of the event, things went great for me. Built Nouvelles for it ‘cuz I wanted the burger deck. So many Blue-Eyes players to eat up! Towards the end (once the extra missions were dropped), things became much more stun-y. Fitting backrow hate in my deck helped though. Also when I fought more Nouvelles mirrors, and man did they suck until someone brought out Baegrill first.
There's something extra evil about playing a floodgate deck in one of the events. Especially for rituals, where honestly the card type has it a bit rough, so going out of your way to decks that often get told "nope" to tell them "nope" again feels bitter.
I'm one of the guys who actually encountered a hefty amount of Ritual decks - mostly Nouvelles, with Mikanko in 2nd place and Blue-Eyes a distant third, plus a handful of other stuff. I played Libromancer with a small Nouvelles package, and it worked really well (not much counterplay against Mikanko though, given how much Libromancer/Nouvelles stuff targets, but it tended to work out anyway). Actually a pretty fun event, got me to actually play an archetype I'd mostly built anyway but didn't think would work well on ladder.
Try Libromancer with either kashtira or VS. I had a great time with both. I didnt use ariseheart either. Main decks are great fodder for libro tributes with the ease of bringing them back. And as for VS? Well look at the libromancer types… it’s literally ONLY got the types VS needs
I didn't really have anything worth playing in this festival, so I just wound up playing all the maindeck VS monsters and shoving in a Demise, King of Armageddon package. Hilariously enough, it worked great.
I legit just played Rock-less VS with no rituals at all and barely lost during the event. Turns out playing Ritual decks in the Ritual fest was a handicap the whole time.
@@themasterblaze7563 same the OTK decks couldnt deal with the tagging in and out/ Mad love and everything else couldnt out a 3K beat stick that was unaffected effects.
I literally main ritual decks, so I ran Megalith with a Drytron engine and I'm pretty sure it was tier 1 in this format, I had like a 90% winrate minimum
I got a pretty decent amount of ritual decks. Still don’t get why they allowed things like Rescue-Ace and Vanquish Soul at mostly playable levels, but I liked switching between Megalith and the Nouvelles loaner
@@MasterQuestMaster hey now you can set up Mystigirl to revive off of one of the traps, if you open any of the backrow! but also mystigirl is the only one that would constitute interaction
@@julianchrobak-prince1915 dont think Libro really works as a combo deck. Even with the full extra, you're more similar to Swordsoul - midrange deck with 2-3 interrupts + followup But at least drytron does not die to 1 ghost ogre
I Did Odd-Eyes Nouvelle Ritual Djinn I got one Nouvelle Mirror Forced twice and MAGIC CYLINDERED the one they could target Three turns should be enough time to read the monster THAT I TRIBUTED FROM THE GRAVE TO RITUAL SUMMON...
Me playing Libromancer vs. Ritual Decks: Okay, we trade hands until one of us is out of meter. Me playing Libromancer vs. Non-Ritual Decks: Okay, so 10400 DMG to the dome. Doombroker, go. Had quite the nice score in this "Extra Zero 2" Festival, 21 - 5 isn't that bad.
I'm glad this event is making other people appreciate Nouvelles more, they were the first deck I ever actually built by myself in like 10 years so I'm glad they're seeing some love, even if it's in Master Duel
Yeah this event really was hit or miss. I hated it at first but that was before I actually learned how to play the deck I was playing which was megalith, once I learned how to do stuff though I actually had a pretty solid time. Didn't really run into many if any non ritual decks as I went through it. Though once the second half missions came out and I got past the gem point i caved and just played VS for the rest of it and that was where I ran into most of the non ritual things. and all the mikanko, can you believe that, didn't see a single mikanko the entire time I played megalith but the moment I got off they basically swarmed me all at once.
I had a lot of fun with Dinos in this festival, just like every other gimmick festival. Legit Dinos has been a very good investment in Master Duel for the festivals alone.
so after gaining all i needed for ritual summons, i just ran ice barriers to punish anyone playing the default chaos max deck. was fun to see them bring out chaos max and go into battle phase and realize they cannot attack over the defender to deal double piercing. then if i can get secret guards out, i was immune to alternate as well and just ran a copy of raiho, gantala and grunnard with the noble knight equip spell clement to attack directly over his bigger monsters. surprised more people didnt surrender andjust waited until i finally finished them.
It’s a shame so many people opted to not play ritual decks, this event was really fun to play with Vendreads! I got lucky to avoid most of the non ritual stuff but videos like this show how many other people were not as fortunate lol
I considered playing in this event, but the only ritual deck I had was a half thrown together Relinquished deck from around when MD came out, and I wasn't even sure the Relinquished fusions would be legal so I kinda just didn't bother even though I could have played something like Toons probably since I saw a few people say they were actually kinda good in the event.
I was playing against a lot of loaners, probably because I started playing when the event was almost over. But thanks to that, I was at least able to build a Nekroz Deck (one of my favorite older decks) and actually win even though the deck hates on Extra Deck cards of which barely any were legal.
It's probably bc he's streaming when these videos are uploaded so some of the videos are from the same stream. Could be he just likes the shirt a lot or it's a bit like penguinz0 with their white shirts.
Had a lot of fun playing pure Megalith in the event. Running into the non-ritual floodgate players sucked, though. I did get kind of tired of outing Chaos MAX toward the end, but it was still satisfying to see it die.
This event was borked from the start. The banlist left Blowout Cards like Ash untouched despite many of the lower tier Ritual Decks needing to resolve cards like Prep an Pre-Prep.
running into the same stun player twice because everyone hated the ritual event sounds about right. i kept playing and eventually the only decks left around were 90% loaners or dark magician, 10% "other." mostly gishki.
Had a blast playing Vendreads. Did not have a blast playing vs Lab. Also very funny summoning a 0 defense vendread token and instantly dying to chaos max double damage pierce
The first two days of the event was kinda funny cuz PEOPLE WAS PLAYING DAMN RITUAL DECKS, EVEN LOANER DECKS after that all the rushers who wants to end the game fast due surrenders started playing damn Runik, stun and all the floodgates that are allowed in the event. Man, why ppl always find ways to create the most boring ass decks FOR EVENTS
Bro i genuinely don’t understand konamis thought process when making the ban lists for these festivals, Its a RITUAL festival WHY IS RUNICK EVEN LEGAL??? WHY IS VANQUISH SOUL LEGAL??? They need to hire better ban list teams cause holy fuck its infuriating that 70% of the decks i fought in this mode WERENT RITUALS
I did F2P Megalith for basically the entire thing (played some of the Nouvelles loaner but the mirror is agony) and did alright just going Bethor to Raigeki turbo. One thing this festival highlighted is how insane the Impcantation cards are when extra deck is completely irrelevant.
Yu-Gi-Oh had become an example of a "selfish" game and his first game was a perfect example of that. "I wanna play my deck and make it so my opponent can't play theirs. My opponent is playing their deck and making it so I can't play mine? This game sucks, I'm just gonna leave"
I'm sure there's rip of it somewhere on RU-vid. I remember the Deulist cup music being uploaded within' like 3 days of it's OST being added to the game.
I think the reason why people are allowed to play stun decks and decks that don't follow the festival themes during these at all is they're like konami telling people "okay if you really don't want to ritual or xyz or synchro because of reasons, you can still participate in the event by stunning your opponent to death". It kinda makes sense since even if you don't dig the event you can still play it but it will suck for other people so it still work against the game in the end. So I think they need to do something else to incentivize people who don't like the theme mechanic to participate in addition to the loaner decks (which have been getting better). They should make a special pack that contains cards that are relative to the event (link monsters/support for link festivals, etc) then give players special tickets for it enough for let's say 10 ten-pulls and then restrict those packs so you can't get staples from them (hand traps, board breakers) and staples outside the festival theme (for example no pulling access code in a fusion themed festival) so that they can still gouge our wallets for the money they of course want as a company. To further not give us too much free stuff they can also limit good cards you can get in the special packs (like you can't pull an apollousa from the special link pack but you can get knightmare phoenix or bls instead). By adding the above feature they can now ban the usual suspects that make the event unfun: floodgate decks, timelords, burn decks, mayosenjus, lab, dracolords, etc. I believe going this method would definitely make more work for them each festival (which of course they don't want to do. companies don't want to work that much for their base, i know since i work corporate) but it will make the festivals fun since it will give players: - incentive to actually follow the theme - give them the feeling of building a deck (my favorite part of yugioh) that actually works and follows the festival theme - and the most important part, the feeling of gacha that's better than normal since it's free!
This festival went much better for me than what happened here. But, i did still see several non-Ritual players, and I would BM the non-Ritual decks like crazy. This was the Ritual Festival, if you're not interested then just don't play the event.
Truly the festival of all time. I loved no one playing rituals in the ritual based event. My favorite part of the festival was when I Ashed my only Drytron opponent, and they scooped. Truly a breeding ground for fun yugioh.
Such a miserable event. Leaving all the stun cards and Benten at 3 just meant everyone I faced was either playing unfun slow grindy bs or Drytron 17 negate kill you into the sun turbo Most joy I got was literally playing any Nouvelles card from the loaner and having 65% of opponents DC immediately
This event was so disappointing, just because it was so close to being good, they hit Maxx C, D Barrier, Skill Drain, and a bunch of other floodgates I would love to see actually banned in main modes, but they just didn't hit non-ritual things hard enough to get people to actually play rituals, and when that gets paired with even the ritual decks losing their ED tools (namely things like Elf for Gishki), it just ended up being most of the people playing VS or stun.
This event sucked. Non-ritual decks were annoying, the ritual decks that did get played were annoying in their own ways, and i always felt like *I* was the one getting counter-picked when i switched decks or adjusted my build for what i was seeing. Awful.
I tried so hard to play Ritual stuff during the Ritual event but it turns out this summoning mechanic is so dogshit that a card pool centered around it still doesn't make it playable
