Fireball Island expansion packs ; DFTA 26 Part 2 

I just got mine! went full out as well, apart from the pirate ship since it wasn't readily available atm. And indeed, you feel like a kid again! Took me 2 evenings of youtube to get to know the game, and the more you watch, the more you come to realize how brilliantly the rules are made. Absolute stunner!

If you look on boardgame geek many agree that the honey pots are broken, so there is a couple rule modifications so it’s harder for one person to grab all of the honeybee pot worth six points each. From the Board Game Geek forums is the fix for the broken honeypots being so close together and over powered points wise. 1. Put a honey pot next to each region. 2. Place a honey pot on an empty treasure space within the corresponding region each time you add a marble to the Scar. 3. Otherwise play normally. Plus: Balancing the Honey Pots is simple, if you jump over somebody you can steal one honey pot. Why not? It is just an item like the Main Jewel. However just like originally done if you steal the honey pot you get stung! Much like the Heart of Vul-Kar, the hunny pots are larger than something that would fit in your pocket which would be the tokens. So they can get easily stolen when jumped over by passing a player. They don’t steal everything from the player only one item ( your choice on this ). Also I love the thematic suggestion that every time a pot is stolen and/or definitely every time the honey pot is originally taken the bees get poured out and the new owner gets stung. Optional make the honeybee pots worth five points instead of six. As far as the Tiger goes some people played that you can reshoot the tiger until you get it landed on the board or 3 tries. House rules.

I love how they treat this as a sequel (Return to the island) with new objectives. In the original game you simply be the first to nab the gem and make it off the island via docks but here they made it more open for you to explore around the island grabbing treasure and snapshots (until the three treasures are found) the heart isn't even the end goal but worth considering since it's worth a lot of points. This is what I love about Restoration games; they don't just reprint an old game..they completely revamp it and add more to it or fix balancing issues the previous games had; I guess sort of board game verisonss of Reboots/Reimaginings. Though the one I have is called Race to Adventure; it's more of a streamlined smaller version of the game (no lucky penny, Souviner cards, Snapshots) Simply to get as much treasure as you can and escape ( first one to reach the helipad ends the game) Oh and it's not compatible with the expansions

Wow! Great review! It looks like a fantastic game but with all the expansions I could see myself getting a bit lost with all the rules...regardless this video has inspired me to perhaps give it a look in the near future :)
