I was there in 2786 "Jon Bee" with John Blackman we were both from Medway Cruising Club in Gillingham , Kent great event continued sailing Fireballs for many, many years to come a great boat. Thanks for posting will be watching again especally as my (Peter Stacey) arms and hands feature putting the spinnaker in the boat close to the start.
Thanks for sharing! I have a Fireball from this era (3776). Funny how different they were. The original sails were really baggy, and the Proctor boom is very flexible.
The Fireball was under serious consideration as an Olympic sailing class in the early 1970s, but it lost out to the 470. Note that the Scottish entry was eliminated for cheating in this event. How shameful!
