The largest square grate is actually a grill top. I sent the pan lifter because the other end Works to hold the grill while you're working with the food which is being grilled. Lol! I hope you can make sense of that gibberish.
There is "SOOO MUCH GOING ON GUYS!" 😂 I can't wait to get one and tinker with all the options! You're a lucky man, Wooly! I'm totally jealous. Lol looking forward to your next video on it too!
I am anxious to support Steve on Kickstarter again for this one! It looks like a great, flexible and fun system that isn't too heavy. I can't wait to get my hands on one. Thanks for the peek, buddy. You and the pups stay well over there. GG
I don't want to rain down on any parades here but there are a few things I think should be mentioned: Personally I think this stove is more for the family guy who has a few members in his family camping in a car. It's not really aimed towards the solo packers guys. Why? Because the weight and size. The nano was perfect for that and even double nano stack overkill mod was actually even smaller and lighter when packed than a single Freestyle. 2) Im worried about the gimmicky "ash tray" aka grill grate which Steve is putting there this time saying that it's because he wants to minimize the weight. But that comes with two costs / cons: 1: you will have to figure out a way to block air when you want to simmer the fire and not only speed jet it. To grill with this stove will be some challenge how to regulate the airflow level underneath. 2: the forest fire accidents risk will increase by skyrocket now with this very well opened space beneath like this one. You better have a fire extinguisher ready in case fire is jumping. It's a interesting design but I'm not sold on it yet. Looks like a lot to fiddle around and perhaps need to modify it a bit in order to get full control over this stove. I much more prefer the firebox nano double stack where it's easier to control and Steve should have improved that one so you don't need to cut / saw the legs in order to put them together. The original design should have been so you can somehow take them off without cutting them apart which is a bit pity. Instead he rushed into this project since it surely brings in more money but I will not doom on this project yet. Im looking forward to see more of the long term usage reviews to see what other users who owned this for a while saying about this.
@@RedBranchBushcraft have u had chance to try that tarp yet, I would be Interested In what u think about and how it preforms, most of my camping is done in winter in the Highlands.
I dunno -- the design feels rather contrary to the reason I really enjoy the premise of the Firebox stove. That is: convenience, durability, & reliability. Seeing all of these separate little pieces which strike me as a fair sum less durable than the standard cut-plates of the stove & the use of the tins as ash pans feels rather makeshift & gimmicky. I'm sure this is for quite a different crowd, & though I love the gen. two kit I've got, I'm not sold on this one.
That was my intial thought with the six side configuration. I think the firebox will be nicer since it's hinged and comes in titanium. the 3 sided setup that supports siphon stoves looks amazing.
First impressions are so important to me, I like getting a feel for something before I read all the manuals. Full video after I have read all the manuals will be out today at 5 pm
@@RedBranchBushcraft depends on the cost but I'm hoping to! I've got a wife and 3 kids who all have birthdays in the next 3 months but we'll see what I can squirrel away!
Real men don’t need to read the manuals😅😂😅😂😅😂🤔🤔🤔do I see you cooking satay ( beef, chicken or lam)tonight? Now fire box is going to hate to create a bunch of cook ware to go with it!😅😂😅😂
I hate to say this , but , this doesn't EVEN look stable at all ! It looks like it's skating all over those cases it's setting on ( and it's fairly level ) . It would be better on the ground , I guess ( but no ground protection ) . The way flames jump out of these stoves when the wind blows , You better have a fire extinguisher on hand , just in case ( remember , You're dealing with multiple stoves here ) .
