Fantastic job, Team Jay, a rural vibe if ever there was one. The Evolve stone looks great, I was impressed with it when Jaime and Erik used it. The mantles look as if they've beeb there for years. All in all a good project. Stay safe and well 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨 We have 4 adults, 8 dogs and 3 cats in our house on the side of a mountain in West Wales, UK. Never a dull moment 😂😅

Too bad you didn't drill 3/8th rods into your studs, then corresponding holes in the mantle. Then it would be floating but secure. But regardless, that came out absolutely beautiful!

Jay a little scary watching you install a backer for a wood stove. You need to check on the stove for the clearance required by the manufacturer. Code does require 24” clearance for the single wall stove pipe to anything combustible, in this case probably the plywood if the “stone” is not combustible. Just testing the temperature with your thermometer won’t help.

I don't know if you've seen those spray can mixers like the MixKwik that attach to a reciprocating saw, but it would be a great idea for the manufacturer of that tintable caulk to consider making one that's sized to the diameter of the caulk tubes.
