For anyone wondering, when the shoot onto the water, they have small makeshift bouies that stabilize them before they shoot.

It's definitely more complicated and impressive than most but It makes sense the more you think about it. Single shot tubes are open on one end and the bottom is closed with the clay plug so its gonna be the heavy end and sink. I assume it's also got to have something to help flotation but that would also be pretty easy to solve as well.
