As someone who works with these animals on a daily basis, these are no joke. I've been stung thousands of times. In my 15+ years of working with them, I've found the best way to handle these spines without getting hurt. The BEST way to remove the spines from the skin is to use superglue or fast drying liquid elmer's glue on the effected area and to slowly peel the glue off the skin once its dried. I do not suggest tape or tweezers due to the fact that you potentially snap off the spines and can push the spines deeper into your skin, which can lead to long term or permanent damage, persistent pain, and inflammation.

Thanks for the knowledge. I would have used tweezers immediately.

Wow! These things reminds me of some of the phenotypic aspects of a tardigrade. I know they aren't directly related but they're frightening creatures!

I have a coral tank and had a very large looking insect kind of thing that lived in the rocks . I had to get rid of it eventually since it was killing fish when it got to a point.

because it's showing proof of global warming. BC times whites were in caves because of the sunlight. Global warming means it getting hotter again. Forcing some back into underground caves away from the sunlight.

In the scientific community, no. However, these animals are very well known in reef keeping hobbiest.
