Engine was built by Precision Racing Engines in North Vancouver. Great guys to deal with, and they build some wicked motors for monster trucks, dragsters, maud rails etc etc.
Get the 514, it'll run all day in the bush. This is a race only engine, built to run hard and fast but only for a short period of time. The 514 is an excellent motor that should be able to do everything you're into with ease.
used a D1 block, cemented the block, we drilled and tapped the main oil passages from inside the lifter valley, and tied a line in so all the mains were tied in together, ran another line from the front of the block to the rear where the oil pressure gauge line ties in, so now no matter what rpm it is at, all mains get the same amount of oil. Also restriced it some to the top end. I wouldnt go over 800 or so with a factory block.
I picked up a '86 Ford Ambulance box van about 2 years ago with a 460 and a C6 in it. 86,000 original clicks. Runs and drives, althoug the choke doesnt work on the carb so its a PITA to start. My wife and I are in the process of closing on our first house, so funding for my project has diminished somewhat. I was thinkin of just porting the stock heads, add a Magnum 280 cam, or XE 274 and just hone the cylinders for new rings on some 10:1 pistons. Stuff it in my '68 Galaxie.
@Reezy71x im very proud of you at the fact that that you have a '76 f250 is a 390ci bored 0.30 over, Edelbrock heads, intake, carb, and cam, Hedman headers, all aluminum radiator, C6 with stage 2 rebuild and Flex-a-lite transmission cooler, B&M shifter, divorced NP205, Dana 60 rear, 44 front, 4:11's, Detroit Locker rear, Superwinch hubs, stock suspension with poly bushings, custom power steering, 2 1/2" exhaust (2 into 1),..... so proud.
@afrothunder78 the drag link was the raised one from skyjacker that goes together with there dropped pitman arm, the tie rod is from a K30 that bolts through the dedenbear knuckles
Same heads as well?? I've had no issues at all, this thing runs awsome, and has never let me down. Only time I lost badly was when someone decided to have a water bog instead of a mud bog, so the motor will be snorkeled by next season.
@bigorangetrucker You could run a solid cam if you dont mind adjusting valve lash on a regular basis. Just dont go over kill, too much cam will be crap on the street. If you have manual brakes you wont have to worry quite so much about vacuum. Happy medium cam I guess LOL.
@mudfreak79 Well it sure seems to have the guts. Never studied the ins and outs of truck pulls, but I imagine I understand you well when you mention the other stuff needed for the competition events like that. Who needs to go pro..seems you are having a hell of a time anyway.
Yes, trick flows....after I read the build I freaked out... your heads are ported by the master, however, mine are box-stock....big difference...did I mention this is going in a boat? ;-) I figure about 150-200hp less without the port work, still way ok....if I make 600-650hp, the boat ought to move ok... thanks again!
@norfolkdash9 OMG...its in the bed of the truck, I relocated it so that it would not get clogged with mud and give the truck better weight distribution.
@mudfreak79 Well heres the video of the small block chevy that i drive, type in Baileys mud run and watch the 49 second video that ford does run pretty good though!
@The2004CobraSVT Not real sure, I've had alot of guys here ask me to sell it, but I have a hard time lettin such a good running engine go. This has been the best engine I have ever run, never lets me down!!
Would like to take it to the strip at least once. The 390 that's in it is huffed, needs to be rebuilt. cakes up the spark plug on Number 8 cylinder really bad and compression is 125 instead of 150 like the other 7. Just a street cruiser, not into drag racing, but would like some more snort. I could just do a quick rebuild on the 390 and save the 460 for something else... A ranger or a Fox Mustang possibly...

the scary thing is that the 510ci chevy stock motor is less then half the power of this 532. But it is nice to see the big three finally making more then 200hp V8s again!!
