Great initial setup!!! I am glad you were patient in setting up the tank and letting the tank cycle. I look forward to seeing how this tank progresses. Excellent work!
I personally started with a 120 gallon tank and am on a 300 gallon and some fish can be jumpers so make sure to get a lid for your tank when you get your first fish
@@charliedowning8339 of course! Forgot to mention that! I’m having a piece of acrylic cut at Home Depot to where the filter, chords, and light clamp will fit. Thanks for reminding me to say that! That will definitely be there before I have fish. Thanks for watching and thanks for the advice! My second update should be up any minute now.
You're doing it right so far to have 2 weeks go by and still cycling, good job dude. Most n00bs quickly throw in clownfish and some coral day 1 and wonder why things die or their tank has massive algae issues. Make sure to have water agitation on the surface to avoid a lot of issues. Algaebarn sells phytoplankton and copepods that you can dose to your tank that helps TREMENDOUSLY with new tanks. Don't rush into filling it with corals, 1-3 softies or LPS corals are fine after a month. #1 rule with saltwater is to move SLOWLY, people fail when they rush into it. If you hit the ugly stage, ride it out. Don't try and add chemicals into your tank to try and clean it up like most people do. Good luck man! P.S. avoid adding in blue damsels or other (cheap) aggressive fish. Any fish added after them will be bullied to death.
@@Arborpress thanks man! I have an update video coming soon. Copepods everywhere and tank is cycled. Ghost feeding caused a bunch of decaying food but hitchhikers, bacteria, and pods were doing good, but I added 4 small inverts to help clean up as I bring in probably my only 2 fish I’ll have for a minimum of 6 months.
@@clarence0075 awesome! What type of fish do you have? I was advised to either do that or use food to ghost feed. It’s cycled now. Second video I did has a couple updates and the big update will be coming out in a week. Thanks for the support!
@@Jrod1107 one yellowtail damsel he didn't eat for a week until I added a clownfish a week later now they are like best buds they are greedy eaters. Along with three hermit crabs and two conehead snails...
Awesome! Any advice? I do my own research a lot, but so many people have different experiences. Please don’t hesitate to leave any criticisms or advice! Thanks for watching! And check out my second video I just posted!
I couldn’t even tell you what’s wrong or right. I still feel like I’m doing something wrong. Even tho everything looks great. We in this ride together 😂
