Hello, I’m in the 2 - 3 week phase post op of a latera ( 2 on one side, 1 one on the other ) and a Vivaer. I’m still struggling to breath through my nose and have all the symptoms you mentioned. Are these the procedures relevant to the recovery you speak of in the video ?
Great question! My 2 week after the procedure Video was designed for patients undergoing the MODERN NOSE CLINIC approach. We do not do surgeries, we do procedures awake in the clinic. We do LATERA awake. We don’t combine LATERA with other procedures. If a physician is ONLY able to perform LATERA under general anesthesia in the OR, I could understand combining multiple surgeries: the expense of going to the OR makes it impractical to return for multiple steps. If u went to the OR, I could see why multiple steps were combined. Since we take a STEP WISE approach we can often achieve results with less procedures. All of this to say; We do all of those procedures but never together. For that reason it is difficult to say how challenging or easy your recovery will be: call your ENT. Ask how many they have done. If it has been a lot (100 cases) they will predict your recovery more accurately. Good luck! Dr. Douglas Skarada
after 25th day of my nasal polyps surgery , I have sewer pain on my lift ear joint and the surgery is also done only on my lift sinus. what could be the problem the pain started on 10th day of my surgery and it is increasing
Turbinate surgery ruined my life. The turbinates are ORGANS---the doctors do not bother to tell you this before surgery. Look it up yourself. Turbinates control many breathing functions and if operated on can stop working, making you feel like you are suffocating. People magazine online just did an article about Empty Nose Syndrome.
Mike, You are absolutely correct. I plan to do a video on the Empty Nose Syndrome. Traditional ENT surgery involves cutting multiple structures out of the nose. "Turbinate surgery" often represents some form of a destructive process. At the Modern Nose Clinic we perform something completely different. I am very sorry you underwent a "Traditional Procedure"
Thank you. And, yes, I think a video on Empty Nose Syndrome would be a good idea. In the last few months, I'm running into more and more doctors who know about this condition. It's getting a lot more attention than it used to.
