Just had to try some cutting! Too excited and skipped some of the setup and testing. But I really wanted to see how this laser compares to the others for cutting. This came out so much better then we had hoped!

Hi I hope you got it working in the end, as it wasn't working well. My k40 ( more like k25 , its the mini one with 600mm tube ) will cut 3mm ply and 3mm mdf at 20mms at 13mA in 2 passes, if I slow down to 12mms it cuts in 1 pass.

Nice job! Looks like a lot of charring on the cuts...did you have air assist on? Comments?

Air assist was one. But the power might have been higher than really needed and maybe could cause the charring? Not super sure.

Ooooh Weller! Great choice and in a proper Glencairn glass too. lol Lasers and whisky. I think we just became best friends 😋 Quick question about the laser. I see you just got yours but do you think you can fit a rotary in there. Spec's say 9.8". The 4 wheel rotary might work with a Glencairn but a 20oz tumbler? I want to buy that size laser but i'm worried about the Z height. Just found your channel. Sub'd! Thanks.

The issue with glens in the laser is the curve. You have to warp the design to it will laser correctly. I think most times it’s done with blasting. Also I think they make a rotary for this one. I would need to look into that more.
