This is something that I’m planning to do too! I’ve been studying korean for a couple months, so I can read and write, but I can’t understand yet. I enrolled in a korean school on saturdays that starts in September. I’m still looking for an exchange program though!

I don’t mean to be rude but it’s just sad that people are so brainwashed of everything related to Korea yet we all know that Korea’s standard for education is on a different level and the suicide rates of students in Korea is high. I love Korea especially their culture but I don’t think I would ever want to study there.. just putting out my opinion here

Moving to Korea and starting university there before even knowing hangul is irresponsible at best. You shouldn't go occupy a country before knowing at least some basic survival language and 한글 (which is literally the easiest writing system in the world and can be learned in a day , so there's pretty much no excuse). It's great that she started learning it at school but she should've gone in with the basics already. Maybe then she wouldn't have been all like "why's this bread got corn on it' when the bread bag right next to it said 옥수수(corn) in big bold font lol

Well there is a website called "study korean.com".It is really helpful.It starts you out and teaches you the basics then you can move up to higher level Korean .So if you plan to go this site could help.I don't really know any for Japense though,but I saw one Japense alphabet video.

Try Papago Kids! I found it recently and it’s really helpful. It shows you basic flash cards with the korean translation and it says the word 😊

Totally! ask me whatever. but tbh the process isn't as stressful as it seems haha. i found a place to stay through this website: goshipages.com i don't have a job, if you get d-4 visa you have to be in korea for 6 months before you can get a job 😭 and when i started i knew the basics like hangul, greetings, order food, etc. but i def recommend learning the basics first because the pace of the class is really fast.

I live in France, so it might be different though ^.^ I'm supposed to send all my documents in English but things like diplomas are hard to translate haha... I know the basics already, but I really lack in vocabulary!!

oooh~ idk about the visa differences from the US and France, but I did have to do all the visa work on my own at my local korean embassy. And it's ok if your diploma isn't in english just send whatever language yours is in. I'm probably not much help haha, but you can email the language program(USA/Europe): sgklec1@sogang.ac.kr they are pretty fast in responding and they answered all the questions I had regarding visas and stuff. 😊
