A tip that might help! Train your kids to get their own breakfast and stuff their own folder! This helped me save sooo much time and the kids can totally do it! I always trained my kids to get morning work from a bin instead of it being on their desks so I didn’t have to pass them out daily! In the bin I have the weekly morning work prepared so each day all have to do is throw out extras and take the paper clip off the current morning work!! Hope this helps!!

Yay!! Congrats!! I totally agree about how they will remember the whimsical, fun things!! At the end of last year, I asked my kids what their favorite memory of the year was, and all their answers were the little funny/silly sings I did like dressing up or having an elf on the shelf. They need that magic!!!

I stumbled on your vlogs and you just made my whole day! I am in my 11th year of teaching and this year I teach third grade. We too have been teaching from home since March 16th and it just breaks my heart to be missing my class! I taught a 1st/2nd my first year of teaching way back when and you remind me so much of myself. Your enthusiasm and pure joy for starting a brand new adventure with sweet first graders just makes me so happy. Thank you for bringing the joy back! I now have three children of my own (6, 3, and 10mo) so stay-at-home teaching looks very different than being in the classroom. Of course I LOVE my children, but I love giving my all to teaching as well, so it's all about balance. Hang in there- soon we will all be back in the classroom, enjoying the ebb and flow of the school year! Take care!

As a specials teacher (librarian here!), we really want them to go to the bathroom before they arrive. My bathroom is a long way from the library and I only get 40 minutes a week with them. Just a thought. Every school and building is different.

Im studying education at my university. It feels like student teaching is so far away but hey I'm closer than I was last semester when I was a freshman. Can't wait for my first day of student teaching I'm so excited yet scared. I love working with kids and I know this is the right career for me but I'm so scared of messing up.

My school never gives kids breakfast they get snacks or when you get older in 4th and up you get a early lunch whitch is at 11:25 so they get prepared for high school
