Just to clarify, it was of course the first UP doublestack train over Donner. SP in the 1980's and early 1990's also ran double stacked ISO 8' 6" containers over Donner. They lost the ability to do this when the track was reconfigured as part of the partial single tracking of part of the line. This is a great video!
Excellent video! Imagine if the Southern Pacific had upgraded their tunnels back in the 80s and were able to run doublestacks and triple-deck autoracks, they might have still been in business today.
In your description it say that "This is the first double stack train ever to cross the Sierras" The Southern Pacific ran double stacks over Donner many years ago, But stopped because the the height on the trailers became high. Now the UP can run these double stacks because of the work they have done on the tunnels. Good video though!!
Southern Pacific was running limited stack service over the Donner Line back in the 90's so idk if this was the first UP one or if they calm they brought that service because thats not true
