Sparta not dogging you man, but the gm 4 wheel drive vehicles that year model don’t have springs, they have torsions bars, and that’s a long bar that runs from the transmission mount to the lower control arm, and it has “keys” they you can turn up with a bolt, I believe it’s a 17 millimeter bolt, but you can turn them up and it’ll sit up a lot better
Hey the last video about the cat eye swapped front clip, I’m from Texas and that’s what we call those year model trucks, I’ve seen a bunch of people cat eye swapping their Tahoe’s and suburbans but it looks good man!
You could probably ride a bicycle from 0 to 60 ( US ) faster than this thing will go, but with a little tuning, who knows? I'm sure fuel mileage will be phenomenal!
Awesome that's the truck I see lots in town , I will wave next time I see you driving around town . I would like to come out to your shop one day to help ya out with filming if you ever need a hand .
+Chris McEvoy Yeah, things are a little hectic right now with Tape Boss and projects. Connect with me in the spring and we can collaborate channels. Cheers!
Now that's what I call a family car. It was a sorry shame when we had to drive my mom's Sequoia to my grandma's house instead of the truck, so I probably wouldn't have been so sad if it had a Cummins. And the best part is, you don't need to listen to the kids screaming in the back. If I ever have to get a family car, it's gonna be an Excursion with the 7.3 or swap a Cummins into a Suburban.
What camera were you using on the bumper? The sound was amazing and there wasn't much wind noise at all. I need one of those. Great job on the conversion btw, what kind of MPGs does it get, 28?
+Far From Perfect GoPro Hero 2. Audio is an EQ'd mix from other sources, though. GoPro audio is particularly bad on its own. Camera from inside the cab capturing the engine sound was a little Powershot ELPH 780. Those little cameras are bulletproof given how much abuse they take!
Hey rich Ik this video is kinda old but I was just wondering how much it cost to do the swap I really wanna do it for my 01 Silverado! I wanna go green but don’t want the hassle of a duramax
CineRaphael Looking online on the Mercado used trucks listings from Brazil and such I found that an F250 or F350 diesel is sold there with a 6 cylinder diesel instead of the V8 we have in the States. Shit fire, I wish we had that option here!
Awesome build. Now when you say “hauls ass” I wonder what that means. I saw in another of the videos, you say a 16 second 0-60 time wasn’t bad. Presumably its faster than that, is it faster than stock?
No way a 16 second 0-60 is faster than stock my 4.8 does 0-60 around 9 seconds, pretty sure he's saying it hauls ass because it's only a stock 4bt hauling that big heavy Tahoe around
would you recommend this swap?? I was thinking about getting a Tahoe either with a blown engine and transmission and putting a 4bt in it. Decent power?
I'm really happy with it. Good all around vehicle that does a little of everything. Can still pull a trailer, but not every day, mid 20's mpg, but can still hold the family. You have to like the noise (I do, my wife not as much) and it turns heads everywhere
I used the one off the Ford 800 but found an ear at the wreckers and extended it to wrap around the rad. For the silverado, I used one from a Duramax. The rad is bigger for the 3/4 ton truck than it is for the Tahoe. I had to lower the front frames slightly.
+DEBOSS GARAGE thank for the reply. I just picked up a 4bt and a 2001 Silverado with a NV3500. 4x4. my intent is to put the engine and 5 speed trans into a 2002-2006 escalade.
It's not as loud as it seems on camera. It does not do it any justice. It is loud when under load (taking off) but quiets down to about the sound of your blower fan on medium when doing 90km/hr at 1800 rpm
xchaindude11x Yeah, I found out after I did the conversion that Mexico received the updated headlights and hood. I still have the HD front end though, with the higher hood... if that means anything anymore!
@@DEBOSSGARAGE these guys expect to put these engines in and have a 2400hp monster. The best plan is to try to stay around stock like you have done and get fuel mileage that is double what the gas engine got. I have a 4bt in a 1500 ram 4x4 and its just an economy vehicle. Sounds like a 5000 Ford tractor and I always hear the comment, I bet this thing tows good. I tell them, no it doesn't and then I get twenty minutes of being told what injectors and what turbo will make it bad ass. You get back in and you leave. Laugh on the inside cause you get 27mpg and he gets 14. Economy is the best use for these engines. I was very impressed with the build of this Tahoe and I gladly lost 45 minutes watching it all.
