half a million... for a mobile home... I know they aren't built like they used to be, but they also aren't going to be a generational home either... That's wild! I mean it's gorgeous, but I could build one for that price. Edited to add***. This is 100% a trailer- it’s on wheels in 4 sections. It is way cheaper to build this style of barbdominium as it isn’t actually a barndo but a trailer shaped liked one. There is no workshop or garage. Last, I never said I didn’t like it. It’s beautiful for what it is. A trailer. It’ll last me and maybe one more generation…. if I baby it. However,it’s not a half a million dollar home. 🤷‍♂️

In 1990, my mom bought a single wide trailer house for like $5000. She paid it off in two years. We are now in 2024 and that thing is holding up like a champ !!!!!

Dude I just sprayed my coffee over the monitor. $145.00 x 4,000 sqft = $580,000.00 plus ship/transportation expense and we have even got to the land, utilies i.e. well/public water, septic tank or public sewage, lower foundation site, and county permits. I purchased a Palm Harbor back in the early 90's, paid around 43k for it. Bricked underneath it, porches. Lived in it for 25 years, sold it and the few acres of land for 130k. It was solidly built.

So.. roughly $175 a square foot for this home and that's with an unfinished second floor.. There's no way. A barndo in my area of Texas will run around $124 a sqft so this is wild.

500k-580k is insane, still beautifully done though.

So glad they didn't do something that went out of style 5 years ago, like black/white/gray modern farmhouse decor. Only 4x markup from an actual bardominium.

Chance....I cried when I watched this one. We are in the process of losing our home and Deer Valley was the first manufacturer that we fell in love with until we realized there was no way we could afford them. I have deliberately avoided videos about them cause I love them so much but there was no way I could avoid this video once you put it up. (I love your videos btw) This video is basically everything I have ever wanted in a dream home (that's why I cried) and its Deer Valley (all of their homes are amazing). I have been looking and browsing for possible ideas from the modular factory built homes, and theoretically this modular home was the very first one that popped up and I've been looking at several, and I have become stuck on this barndomin home, i love everything about it

My ULTIMATE setup would be to have this and two of those nice little cozy cottages, one on either side, for guest houses!

I started watching this same home with another blogger, but thought to myself, I’ll wait. Maybe ole Chance will do this one. Sure enough here we go! You just have that flair about these homes!

OMG! Just yesterday I was looking for small barndominiums.

Makes total sense that the top unfinished part comes flat packed on top for bridge clearance - then they use a construction crane to hinge the panels into place at its permanent location. I have no need for a house of this size, but it is a great innovation in the industry.

Chance, Wow! This home is amazing! You knocked it out of the park! This is now in my top 2 favorite homes you've ever shown. One of my favorite parts was that the commodes weren't crammed up next to the shower & in the master the commode closet was actually an excellent size. If I had a family, I'd consider buying it. But it's a smidge too big for the Hubs & I. Fantastic video! 😊

holy smokes.... that upstairs would be one heck of a studio space. Looms, spinning wheels, long arm quilting machines, sewing machines, lots and lots of storage.... be still my heart.

Look into Steel Building kits. Stronger and cheaper. "That just sounds so expensive to me…and maybe I am wrong but I thought the appeal of a barndo was saving money and doing some work yourself. But I am getting the impression that more folks are in it for the aesthetic/function too. "I built a 24x60 steel building with a 10’ porch running down the 60’ side on a slab a few years back. If you can read blueprints you can contract the slab and shell yourself. I hired a concrete company and paid them $14,000 for it. The concrete was $7500 and the rest was the labor. Next I paid around $20,000 for the building. It’s rated to 175mph winds and I feel more secure in it than I do the house I live in. My dad and I wired it, framed out a 20x23’ room inside, had someone else do the drywall and then we installed a mini split AC in that room. I’d say with materials and AC and all I spent $45-50,000 doing that. If I’d wanted to live in it I’d have had to install 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and frame out more bedrooms. Id also have wanted to add more insulation and windows. I figure that would have been around $80,000 more, so $130,000. I’m not sure what it would be now, but if you can avoid paying others to do the work you’ll save more."

This house is definitely the number one. Incredible house 2 sided fireplace. It beats out some incredible others. The living room wall that wraps around the ceiling. The placement of the staircase. The sliding door on pantry. Omg 1/2 bath.

Perfect Chance, just perfect, love the 3 way fireplace and walk in pantry, especially the size, and I'll take some oreos and milk as well, the upstairs would make a great storage area too.

I bought what I could afford back in 1974,1000 sq, ft. stick built in the 1930's on a city lot for 11,500. The city is accessing it at 74,000 for tax purposes. I retired in 2019, happy as a clam. I had central air and heating, a new roof, water heater before retiring. To each their own.

I almost passed out when I saw the stairs and fireplace. Imagine having an adjoined barn type home gym. 🔥🔥🔥 Have an amazing vacation, Chance 😊

I like the concept of the laundry room sink being in the powder room which saves on plumming for a regular sink and then finding space for the laundry sink. I wish I had one of those for doing wet projects with fabric. I do like the flooring as well as it looks like real would. Some florring is so ugly to me so I'm glad they allow choices for people. The upstairs space would be terrific for anyone running a business from home such as eBay, Amazon, etc. Or I would like it for a sewing room. I would like the outside to be a different color as that is just too much brown for me. Maybe a barn red? The inside is terrific.

I have been looking to build a barndominium for years. I don't need the second floor. The first is perfect just the way it is. Absolutely mind blowing find. Just wish it were a little bit smaller for my needs. As always Chance incredible job. Perfect home. I know exactly why people were stopping and looking. Just incredible.🥰

It’s absolutely beautiful.

This home is FANTASTIC! There's always something that makes me think, "naw, not this one," but, but, this IS the one! Hands down!

This is WONDERFUL! Oh, how I wish I could have it and everybody would see how wonderful this company is. For with those three major sections, I could have the middle for eating, and one side for the men to do their thing after eating and the other side for the women to do their thing when we have family reunions. Start the roof from the very peak and come down over the two outer parts and then add me a complete four-side wrap-around 4-season porch of at least 9 feet wide with windows galore! The few rooms upstairs would be bedrooms with two toilets and two showers and downstairs two toilets one for girls and one for boys. Huge farm sinks everywhere and ceiling fans, too. I do want an old-fashioned kitchen wood stove for when the lights go out and lanterns on all walls just in case as well. Very simple setup. Kitchen to the back. Toilets between the main middle section and kitchen. One on each side. Mirror that upstairs so a small kitchenette is put in with showers and toilets on each side of the middle section where they can sit and talk. Bedrooms on the far right and left. Stairway to one side as you walk in the double doors to the house. The wrap-around four-sided porch gives us extra room and me lots of room for all kinds of things. How pretty it would be on holidays! Then one more thing. Above the grand double doors to the inside of the house would be a "hay loft" door (extra wide like the double doors downstairs) so all furniture can be moved upstairs easily. Better yet, make it a floor on pullies that will move down to pick up what is necessary and move up to the upstairs for easy installment. Yes, a pantry and a linen closet. The major middle section downstairs where we eat will have a buffet along the walls with plenty of plug-ins to keep the food warm. They walk around like a buffet and then sit in the middle with lots of table space and comfortable chairs. I want NO CARPET anywhere in the entire house. Only hard floors or tile or linoleum. I would like the bathrooms/toilets to be tiled on all four walls for easy washing and the main walls in the house done up with gloss paint so I can wash them without leaving marks. All furniture on wheels. I want to move them when I clean. I also need rails for safety as I get older everywhere, wherever possible. The kitchen will have NO dishwasher and NO microwave. Just an electric stove and old-fashioned wood kitchen stove for heat and extra cooking along with a place when the lights go out. The entire house is electric with lots of solar cells wherever possible. I want a good walk around with railings way up by the roof so I can clean off the solar cells without falling. I want a windmill that actually is a generator for extra electricity. Make it look old-fashioned. Clothes washer and dryer with close lines on one side of the wrap-around porch along with a freezer and big farm sink. Rockers in the porches and places to hang plants. I do not want dark paint on the outside. I would rather have a light color like peach or light tan. Trim in the same colors. Please make the windows so I can move them like flip them in place to clean and don't have to go outside to wash them. We do want screens so flies don't come in or bugs. I really do not want a basement. So please make all pipes easy to get at for maintenance and heat pump to help cool and heat the house. The women will have a player piano and TV with tables and games/cards to play. The men will have on their side a pool table and TV with tables and a miniature gambling area. Now, you know we need a small bar for drinks on the men's and women's sides of the house. All chairs are comfortable with arms and on wheels. Make the hard floors not wear away with those wheels and colored siding so I don't have to paint the house. Let's see, that is just about all. I do like shelves with doors and cupboards wherever possible. Just fill the house with them. No need for a closet downstairs. They will have a large coat rack on wheels with a shelf on top. Upstairs, either small closets with lights or just furniture wardrobes on wheels. Beds would be nice to be fixed to the walls and be able to fold them up and allow for more room when not sleeping. Folding tables are perfect as they can be taken down when not in use. If I forgot something, let me know. I live in Nebraska where it gets really hot and really cold. Prepare the house for that. Then we will have it as a model house where people can come see what is possible. They are wasting their money building too fancy of houses from scratch around here and wind up not afford them. Just put on an attached garage for one car and garden tools and make a drainage grid in the floor as I want to be able to wash my car in the garage. (heated and cooled garage) I want lights that are as close to natural light as possible and don't make noise or have that wavy flash like fluorescent lights do. Hate them! Unless they have perfected them to be better. I wonder how many dollars all this would cost. Sure would be an ideal thing for the entire state to see and buy theirs like mine from the same company. We might have to have a tiny room for an office just so we could make orders as people come to view the house and make their orders. What a dream this is! Will never happen. I am disabled. Not physically. I move around just fine. But I am on a monthly check from Social Security and that is not much to work with. Nice dream. Thanks.

In the 1980's my parents were heavy hitters in the Gulf South Mobie Home industry. The first triple wide was made by Magnolia Homes. Both side floors folded down, roofs folded up & the walls slid out. I was a young lad but don't think it could have been more than 60k. After Hurricane Andrew in 94 the game certainly changed. A young man should finance an LT70 & build a kiln. He would come out cheaper & have more value.
