Had a blast making my very first DIY field notes notepad and leather cover (sheath).
Check out the video that got me started here: • Making a Batch of Upcy...
--------
I make and restore leather products in my spare time, mostly bags, backpacks and small items like wallets and card-holders. I am still learning a ton every time I take on a new project and always appreciate feedback on my creations.
For the moment I don't take orders as I like to spend too many hours getting the finished product as good as I can : this means that if I were to sell these bags, the selling price would be way more than the bags are worth due to the hours of work involved.
As always, do let me know what you think of this creation and this video. If you have any tips or comments about the techniques used, please let me know by dropping a comment below this video :)

I like and prefer the green thread. It goes well with the coloring of the map, and it creates a nice and subtle contrast to the leather that still works well.

Yes the green was a good Choice normally don’t like green but this color of green it’s like antique and I love it . Absolutely beautiful I love it.

21:22 the green looks good to me, fitting with the theme as you say. But I reckon it will look even better when the leather patina gets going.

This turned out great! The caramel leather is absolutely gorgeous! And I love the holes to hold the pens. I will definitely be using that feature in the future. I think this is the first pouch I've seen made for a journal; most are covers the book slips into. Well done!

Looks good! putting the knot in the thread on the inside of the book rather than out on the exposed spine will protect it from rubbing and make it more durable. Also, lining it with a polyester fabric will enable the booklet to slide in and out more easily. But it’s going to age and patinate beautifully!

You may as well nerd out and cover a wall with some of those maps. You can overlap them for a relaxed, playful vibe. Paper (or flat) wall decor doesn't get in the way of storage and you can still add hooks, shelves etc, in front of them whenever you expand your storage and organization arrangement.

Glad you like it! It's a water based glue that I had lying around for leatherwork... there wasn't much information on the pot about what it was exactly but I would guess some kind of PVA glue.
