My previous two trips this year had been very slow- skunked on the first one, and only a few small rockfish and sculpin on the second. I hadn't planned on fishing today, but after taking the kids to school and realizing I had a wide open day, it was time to hit the water!

That’s sweet, what type of boat are you running…..been wanting to run out to the pipe from Alamitos Bay.

17’ Baja Bayrunner, 30 Ho Johnson 2 stroke. The run down to the pipe is usually easy, but going back north can be choppy some days.

It was- it has been a slow start to the season though, and the wind has made it tough this week. I haven’t forgotten about taking you out, I am waiting for the bite to get good (probably mid July).
