Funny how both you guys and Joranalogue were working on parallel/serial wavefolders at the same time. I love Joranalogue but I'm leaning pretty hard towards Bifold, this looks incredibly flexible.
Almost every wavefolder circuit uses either a series or parallel topology yet there can vast differences between how these circuits sound. We studied a ton of different wave folders and discovered that features that might look good on paper (or on a scope) does not necessarily translate to actual warm and musical sounds. In particular, when it comes to parallel folding in a Buchla style circuit there are some especially critical design elements you need to get right. The Bifold has two totally independent folder circuits that are quite different but equally musically useful imho. We also carefully designed the architecture to allow for a wide amount of experimentation and versatility . Hopefully you will get a chance to try one in person! Fun fact: the Bifold design was completed a year ago and several people outside of intellijel knew about it since this time. It was supposed to be released in January but there were complications with the manufacturing and then even further delays once the pandemic hit.
USB midi to multiple CV outs would have been nice. This is still mono, or can I use some of the other outputs as 1V/Oct? Don't need velocity and so on.
Anyone have this and the Bastl Waver to compare? Im in a quandary about which to get. Seems the Bastl overdrives much more, but the Bifold sounds very articulate & precise, also with some nice screamy character
Is this not yet released ?.... or just completely out-of-stock everywhere ? Want this over the Dannysound or Bastl "Timbre", or the Vinicius "Overfold".......(all are difficult to get)....... All are good, BTW
