We're back, viewer!
After what almost seems like six months, cricket returns to north Nottinghamshire as we take on local frenemies Ordsall Bridon away.
We welcomed two debutants, exciting overseas signing Shamario Depeiza from Barbados and left-arm opening bowler Toby Smith from Fairburn CC in North Yorkshire, into a strong-looking Wheatley side, led for the first time by 2023 skipper Toppers, against an equally robust Bridon team.
Expect a blistering five-fer, a couple of worldy catches and discover whether the curse of All Hallows struck the camera equipment again.

Village cricket, residential roads, sounds of the ice cream truck, just summarises an English summer. There's something so warm and comforting about it, brings back so many childhood summer feelings.

Ey up, Mr. Peck! Wonderful to have fresh Wheatley TV back being streamed into our eyeballs! Excellent bowling from the new blood, both Toby and Shamario! Tobes looks like he'll fit in very nicely in the Jourd sized hole in the lineup and (it's-a me) Shamario should fit well with Eddie at the top and burgle a couple with the moonballs. Wonderful batting from Tom as well, excellent for him to get some chocolates so early in the season. Well done on the win! Going to be Wheatley's year this year, I can feel it!

Is it just me missing the sight of Jourdan Niles gliding in and knocking back off stump? Wasn't quite the same without him. Wonderful to have you back, the antidote to all the rain that got my team's game called off on Sunday. James Peck is the undisputed voice of cricket!

Wahey! You're back. Glad you escaped the weather more than we did. After a few overs, I feared that the wicket would be a spiteful, low scoring greentop - but it seemed to settle pretty well. Credit to their groundsman/curator.

On another subject. Looks like your be going to Wembley again with the Stags, and thanks for letting us have George Lapslie and Oli Hawkins at the Gills. Welcome back!! the umpires' decisions for the first 2 wickets I gotta say it's shocking. Literally spoiled them 2 lads game with poor poor decisions. The first wicket I dont even think Toby thought it was out. Umpire sometime spoil the game we love!

Good to be back, Bon! While I was surprised the first one was given, I thought the second was stone dead. I appreciate Trav said he hit it, but it would be tough for an ump to detect an edge when the ball is that full. There’s too much pressure on umpires at club level, imho.
