Hey Ya'll here's a quick side by side comparison of the two NV recorders I currently own. This is the first part of a series with these recorders and we're excited to test the limits and capabilities of these things.
At first glance:
Unobtainium Gear ANVRS
Pros:
-Light Weight
-Easier ON/OFF Record process
-Budget Friendly
-Better Audio Quality (COMPARING NON SHOOTING ONLY RIGHT NOW)
-Phenomenal Customer Service
Cons:
-Only takes up 32 GB Micro SD Card.
-Camera Cable is exposed and potentially at damage risk
-Sometimes glitchy if not fully charged or reset
-Records in AVI so must convert before using in editing programs
Grec X NV Recorder
Pros:
-Streamlined built unit.
-Upto 128 GB Micro SD Card
-Better Video Quality and Color
-Records in MP4 Format
-Tightening System to NV Unit is Top Notch Design
-Phenomenal Customer Service
Cons:
-Pricey ($300 ish)
-ON/OFF Record process took about 3 different attempts to figure out if actually recording or not.
-Customer Service Abroad? (NOT SURE IF THIS WILL BE AN ISSUE IF WE HAVE A PHYSICAL PROBLEM DOWN THE LINE. I DOUBT IT WILL BUT IS SOMETHING THAT I HAVE IN THE BACK OF MY MIND)
No matter what both of these seem to fit the needs of the end user. Its up to you to decide which one seems better at first glance. As we progress I'm sure we will find more Pros/Cons to add to the lists but for now these are the main things that I notice while having them side by side for a few days. Time to hit the range!
