Love the slow mo of Stacey strapping on her helmet! The second beach is definitely the best of the two featured here. As for the insect war cries, we heard similar on a visit into the jungle in West Bengal last year; it is insanely loud! I'm liking the look of the island so far so can't wait to see what unfolds in the next videos.
Whoa! I wish I found the channel sooner! Very informative and it's fun to watch. Like going along with you guys. It's RAI - LAY ... well, if that helps at all lol
You guys are my favourite travel vloggers! Much inspiration to me as well. Looking forward to seeing more in Krabi through your upcoming vlogs. I can feel that lovely hot temperature of Thailand through your video - currently experiencing some snow where I live now so I'm envious!
OMG! Love your content. Your information and tips that you guys share is incredible! Me and my husband planning to spend 6 month in Thai(we have never been there) and looking through your videos give us so much courage to actually make this step! Thanks, Thanks!!!!!
I spent some time there last year, and indeed the second beach 'Nopharat Tara' (if Iam not wrong) is more visited by the locals. But if you had wandered from the longtail ticket booth you showed us, down that more pedestrian road, you would end up on a quieter side of that beach, where there are a few bars/restaurants and some regular massage places close to the beach with no road in between. It's also a very nice place ti stay (and you don't need the scooter if your hotel is in that part of Ao Nang. I like your photographics skills, you make very nice shots. Great work. Keep going.
Appreciate the kind comments, thanks Paul. Good tip on that little road down past the longtail boats as well, on our Railay trip we noticed that smaller part of the beach but didnt realise it could be reached without being at one of the resorts - awesome!
Haven't been back to Krabi in almost 5 years. Nice to see it still remains pretty chilled out. My main getaway is Phuket, which I visit yearly but I'm going to Krabi very soon. Private personal tours are always best when island hopping and exploring the surrounding areas. They cost more but to me but gives you a much better experience, almost priceless. You get to really just go wherever the tourists don't. Although I urge you to be friendly and talk to the locals and you'll have a much better experience overall in Krabi
I love the irony of the dramatic music and then suddenly...Dan on scooter :D By the way you are so clean and not messy, when i travel clothes, presents and etc are all over the room... :D
Honestly we'd say skip Krabi/Ao Nang to be specific - not really much going on, but helpful with the airport. Definitely check out Ko Lanta though, we love it. 2 or 3 more Lanta videos to come.
@@DanegerAndStacey Yeah that's looking like the ticket eh. I usually avoid the south of Thailand but this time I want to show the Mrs a little more of it so we shall definitely get out and about!
So glad your back in Thailand guys why don't you go to Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe more peaceful and less tourist, love your vlog always love watching you guys, makes me remember all the good times I had in Thailand
What do you do with a rented scooter when you want to go to Railay for the day for example or just wanna go walking and/or swimming for a couple of hours? Just leave it by the side of the road? Do you need to take any precaution?
Just park it up with the crowd and it will be fine - some places give you a chain and lock to use if you need to. We rented the scooter for our Railay trip, easier to spend 250b and hae your own freedom around when you arrive and leave.
Thx for posting guys. You've confirmed everything I found researching the area. I'll be there in just a "few" more weeks... with a total time of 1 month in Thailand; and then off to everyone's favorite island, Boracay (yes, I've watched your video of the island). I went back and forth deciding how much time to spend in Ao Nang proper or whether to split my time and stay in railay beach. I decided on a hotel on the edge of town in Ao Nang, but still convenient to everything by walking. Decided I can take day trips to Railay, as u showed, it's very cheap to commute there; and if I like it there enough, I may pay for a hotel for one night. The 7 weeks in southeast Asia is focused around being at the beach-- and yes the food in Thailand. Ao Nang looks like one of the weaker spots for the beach, and really commercialized, but still with some beautiful beaches within easy reach. thx again.
Sounds like your research is accurate, we visit Railay in our next vlog and enjoyed it, but very busy and pricier again... feel free to scan back over any of our past videos and see the amount we respond to comments. Then maybe take a second to consider how many comments a channel like ours receives, and how many hours every single day that might take to respond to?
Sgt.Pepper. I'm from Canada and am heading down for the month of November. First stop is Ao Nang for two weeks ( at the edge of town as well ). Then two nights at Railay, three nights at Ko Phi Phi, two nights at Ko Lanta then finishing up north to Cha Am to find a place to bunker down for the Canadian winters. I find Ao Nang is a great place to take off for a lot of day excursions, which is why l did the first two weeks here. Enjoy your trip in paradise.
@@DanegerAndStacey…. sorry about that. I hope u understand I was kidding. my apologies. The single barrel bourbon may have had something to do with it last night--i should have stayed off the internet when i got in late last night.(facepalm) while I was joking around, it probably wasn[t taken that way. and yes, I understand that u receive ridiculous amounts of commentary and u are one of the better ones when it comes to responding to your subscribers. sorry and ty.
@@mikebaker4190… sounds awesome, Mike. I have 8 nights in Patong (hey, it's my first time in Thailand and I have to do it.lol) then 7 nights in kata, 3 nights in Old Town Phuket, 7 nights in Ao nang, and 4 nights in Bangkok. It's so cheap to get around that ur never really locked in to where ur staying. have a great time.
Hi guys! In 2 months I’ll be spending 10 days in Krabi. More specifically, in Tab Kaek Beach. Do you know anything about it? Would you recommend it? Thanks
I swear one of these days we are going to be high fiving you guys in some airport or ferry terminal, we can't keep doing this SEA circuit over and over again and not collide somewhere!! If you guys plan to make it to the Gulf side (Koh Phan gan) we are living here until April. Be cool to swap a few Nam/Bali/Thai stories with ya!! We can smash out a couple gym dates while we're at it Daneger!! Enjoy Krabi you two, hope you make it to Railay...it's on another level!!!
Haha yeah it's only a matter of time huh. Glad to see you guys are still doing well and smashing those views! Not much longer left in Thailand sadly, so many islands to view we just couldn't squeeze it all in without going crazy.
Hey guys I’m so excited for you guys to be hanging in AoNang. It looks like our guys were staying up the hill where we were last month. We stay at the The Sea Condo. Enjoy! You might want to look at renting a private long tail boat for the day. That was was an awesome experience this allows you to stop were you want and you get to decide how long you want to stay in a certain spot. You also might ant to check out a resturant called Kadam Kitchen great Thai food. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos on Krabi. How long will you guys be there?
Appreciate it Damon - this is why we need to be uploading the day of our adventures (impossible haha), we have left Ao Nang now, only there a few days but your recommendations would have been helpful.
Lovin your studio! My brother and I stayed in some crappy hostel in Krabi! LOL. We rented one Scoopy motorbike @ 200THB. Binge watching here! Sincerely, your avid fan from the PH
I would reccomend visiting Timor Leste if you are in this particular area of the world. It's culture is heavily influenced by Portugal but with an Oceanic and South East Asian twist, it is like no other country I have been to.
Nice video! Krabi is verybeautiful place with amazing nature! we were there 2 weeks ago, our favorit beach was Klong muang ) It's quiet calm! Made short video too )
Great video as always! We were there about 2 weeks ago, and has been one of our favourite places. In Chiang Mai now doing many of your top 10 things to do there. So thank you! If you get a chance to head north, I fully recommend checking out Khao Sok :)
Are you heading around there??? I would totally recommend you go check out Chumphon tooooo. So many hidden local spots and it's less tourists compared to other places :D
Oh another tip I learnt when there. Don't buy your tours on the main strip. Walk up the hill half way and you cant deal for a much better price. I got them down to the kids prices for all my tours. Best tour for snorkeling I found was Koh Ha and Koh Roc.
Wow Ao Nang has changed A LOT. Where are the little bungalows with beautiful gardens? they were opposite where you had coffee. I think. I stayed in a hostel too but I don't recognise anywhere. It was never developed like that...A McDonald's!! Everywhere changes. Mass tourism and charter flights into Krabi.
I LOVED ao nang My partner and I were there for three nights and had so much fun! We stayed in an amazing hotel that was actually super cheap and there was a tex mex restaurant called crazy gringoes - where you’ll find the most amazing waitress called Nui, she was amazing we went back there multiple times just to see her !
You probably figured it out but there are beach side restaurants towards the tip of the beach at the Fisherman's Village, which could have provided you with the chill island life feel you were looking for. But yeah, Railay and the nearby islands probably gave you that feel which I believe will be featured on your next vlog? Happy travels!
I stayed at the beach next door, Tonsai, which is so dang quiet that when I went over to Ao Nang to catch the airport shuttle, I was like "holy crap, I forgot cars existed?"😂😂😂 I absolutely loved Tonsai and it was definitely more my speed/vibe (actually my favorite place in Thailand!) but I am sad I didn't get to explore Ao Nang at all - just have to go back, I guess!
This is so Nice... I never been to Krabi before, would you please explore more on the island and share your experience in your next vlog.. pretty please... 🤗🤗🤗
I imagine you don't have plans for Chiang Mai (still here)? We may do a Taiwan trip for 10 days from CM in November and catch the cherry blossoms. Take care.
Great to see some familiar places. I have been going to the Krabi area since 2001. I have to be honest, it has really lost much of its charm over the years. Ao Nang is basically destroyed because of over development. It had always been an over priced place but now it is a full on rip. $14 for breakfast wow. I am glad to see that at least you moved up the road a ways and caught a glimpse of what it was once like. The entire Krabi region is growing and prospering which is great to seefor the local economy, but it does now take more effort to have a more genuine experience there. I have always found that staying in actual Krabi Town, was the best jump off point. First of all there are a number of inexpensive places to stay, granted more modest, but comfortable. There are also lots more places to eat, especially on the outskirts where you will actually see Thai people eating not just other tourists. Renting a scooter and dining and shopping are all less expensive. If you have the time and a scooter there are a lot of great places to explore around the region. If you head north you can come across enclaves of the people that are referred to as Sea Gypsies, or south to the hot springs. For the most part all of the islands are well past their prime, simply because they have all been "discovered" But with a bit of effort and adventure it is a wonderful region of Thailand. Keep up the great videos.
Agree with most of what you've said, Dave - it is a little sad to see how developed the main Ao Nang strip is, but loved that just one bay over there is peace and beauty still. Suppose it fits for everyone if you're willing to look for it. Or the luxury and commercial stuff is there if you just want those comforts.
@@DanegerAndStacey I didn't mean to come off harshly. One of the great things about Thailand and of course travel in general is that with a bit of effort and creativity, it is possible to find the exact experience you are seeking, and some you didn't expect. I feel that travel in general is able to broaden our perspectives and enrich our lives. Thanks for bringing those factors to life for your viewers
We were here recently and vlogged it too! Check it out if you like! But this was very informative, will definitely be checking out your other videos! For recommendations 😊We enjoyed our time but cut it short as it’s rainy season there now and got stuck with the bad weather!
@@DanegerAndStacey thanks for the reply. I'll be there in a couple days. I rememeber the sky being very blue there 20 years ago. maybe just some passing weather. peace
Ao nang look different and more people from outside krabi move snd live here so far ,,im local krabi and i feel uncomfortable,,,,ok i mean i welcome tourist as before but just feel uncomfortable,,anyway enjoy thailand and thai foods ,,,peace
@ 7:50 l nearly gave you a thumbs down Daneger with ur piss weak Oz accent & Stacy for actually laughing @ you ??, but l pmsl @ the fushurmun & jandals ""there bloody fisherman & thongs"" ;) keep up the good work guy's lm green with envy Daneger ur living the dream
Why? I reckon both make as much sense as the other, thongs because the front is a thing shape, jandals because it's an abbreviation of Japanese sandals and flip flops because when you walk they make a flip flop, or slip slap noise
Yeah but you guys call it an eskie which a shortened version of a racist name for Inuit people at least with ours it's a bin that keeps thing chilly ha ha! 🤣
I am soooooo disappointed in both of you. Ao Nang Beach is FAR MOEe that the main drag. Why didn't you walk up to the Monkey trail end where the water is crystal clear and there are numerous small restaurant to sit relax and enjoy a beer (or Pina Colda) any hour of the day. We spent 3 weeks in Ao Nang beach and loved every minute of it. I think you both need to explore more sorry thumbs down from me on this one.
Can't do everything in a day sadly - we knew there were other spots, but didn't realise they were quite so special that we were missing out. Guess we're not perfect huh.
