I was in Ethiopia in 2000 when the war was going on (UN soldier) and it was such a beautiful country and the local people had always invited us in for coffee/tea when we were out on patrol. Thank you for your hospitality and great food... ❤️

Sir, I really appreciate for visiting the blessing country Ethiopia, but how were you inside the church without the timeline for people to be in...I also observe that u guys were making a joke of the blessing God icon....which is absolutely wrong...but I will say it's not only your fault bc they shouldn't let u in with out the timeline since that is high respected place of God. No one was supposed to inter inside the church if it wasn't for prayer times. I'm writing it to be a lesson for other visitors. Thanks for reading.

The county needs work and its under development but the beauty is in the culture and in the people. Hopefully, less people like this visit.
6:18 The Blue Nile waterfalls flows at less than 50% volume. The water has been diverted upstream for hydroelectric power production. The falls are not nearly as impressive as when they run wild.
Trust me the pick pocket issue is not even to foreigners or tourists only. I am Ethiopian and my bag was stolen in Addis Abeba on broad day light on the second day of my arrival. The police did not even do anything.

I remember when I came to America, the first time I tried French fries and mcchicken from McDonald's, I almost threw up but later on I loved them so much that I had to eat them at least once a day lol!! So, it takes time for one to like some new food!!! I must say there is no food like our delicious food for many reasons like its mostly vegetarian based,healthy in nutrients and iron rich that's why our food is becoming increasingly global and loved by millions of people and our beloved Ethiopia is the most fascinating, ancient and proud Godly country in the planet!!! United and ancient wonderful Ethiopia forever!!!
You speak very genuine about first impression in ethiopia because that is what i experience here and all of us here as a foriegner. Safety comes first! and the food is just good for u to survive.. But anyway, what i love in ethiopia is the nature is really incredibly beautiful❤
Great video, would love if you included more info about flight costs, best way to travel, safety, cultural dos and don'ts, things that could help viewers plan their own trips! Even though you aren't drinking right now, I'd love to know about local beers and foods more. Looks like a great place to visit though!
Flight costs you around 1000$. And I recommend you taking Ethiopian airlines. Cost of living once you get in Ethiopia is very very cheap. As per safety it is very safe. But if you are in big cities be careful of pickpockets from little boys just like any other country. I am Ethiopian living in the States and the last time I went there my phone was stolen while I was riding a public bus. But trust me Ethiopians are very polite people .
I'm Ethiopian myself. As the video shows, very beautiful country!!! Take the video's advise concerning safty. When some commenters say "very safe", take it with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, there is a definate political unrest and gruesome ethic violence. Just some pros and cons for better awareness while planning your trip.
Thank you for going in ethiopia and showing Nile river. I am from ethiopia, I have not seen Nile river. I will do that some day. One thing I will suggests you to eat ethiopia food, just go the right place and reasonable price to eat. We have good food. But you have to know what to eat if you want u can eat (doro wat) chicken stew, beef stew, lamb also (Tibs) steak,have beef or lamb (kitfo) they have different away to served it, raw or cooked what ever you like. if you are vegetarian they have the best one. You can ordered mixed platter for 4-6 is enough. It's all about information and need good guider. I hope you have fun. Try the coffee too.
I am glad you enjoyed my country but the food is not ok, it is extremely great. What is your national food that will made the world wow? Ethiopians food is organic, unique and extremely delicious.
Ethiopian food is very fantastic. It's identical with some foods I ate in India. I think the reason you didn't like it is because you have grown eating western foods, and maybe you don't like spicy food! Overall thank you for your feedback, I think someday I will come back and visit Ethiopia again. Thanks brother 🙏🏼

Nice videos you captured the essence of Ethiopia. In terms of disliking the food it is not everyone’s cup of tea but it would have been nice to say what you liked and didn’t like about the food. Others may like and other may not. Also there is theft in the country which just isn’t good but not a lot of military presence and it would have been nice for you to clarify if you felt safe overall. Also random people don’t just have guns (Akas) just walking around this is just false. Many things are changing in the country all for the better.
You should always be cautious of your stuff while traveling... people get stuff stolen ALL THE TIME from hotels,airports,trains,etc while leaving around backpacks,cell phones,etc and not paying attention.. that's just something you should be be mindful of no matter where you are !! Sorta why they say never travel with lots of cash or any valuables
I have hardly heard any one going wow for British national dish, Fish and chips lol...I know you have said its just your personal opinion, but while food is about personal taste, when it comes to healthy diet Ethiopian food come top of the list specially for vegans or vegetarians..I agree its unique that its one of those things you either love or hate, specially the sour flat bread...but that thing is gluten free addictive stuff you can't live without once you get used to it...
7th poorest country if u look at GDP/Capita. It's poor because there are sooooo mannny people! Massive population that is still growing. Ethiopia will become richer as their incredibly young population grows.
I read a lot of comments about the food. Let me say that one's taste in food is very much individualized. What can be great to one might not be good to another. My exprience with Ethiopian food is limited to two visits to an Ethiopian restaurant in Portland, Oregon that had rave reviews. I didn't enjoy the food. On a trip to Korea had restaurant food that was fabulous and some that was bad, so maybe the Ethiopan food I had was not representative.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit in Ethiopia and after watching all the videos you have posted I am convinced you have done more to promote tourism in Ethiopia than the government. Here is my big BUT... I am sure your pockets got picked and you lost some stuff from your hotel room BUT just like any other big tourist destination (Rome, Paris,NY,LA,Morocco etc) you have to be very careful about your belongings.
I think you miss the direction, what make the water of Blue Nile amazing and interesting is the owner of its source. Since Ethiopia , Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, uganda, and S.Sudan except Egypt. so, water of Nile river water make interesting is the wise and culture of the owner, at the source not at the destination. Don't confused us, the video couldn't compare any rather than explaining the fact around the major source.
Beautiful country just watch out for pickpockets in big cities. Dad got his phone stolen lol. It was a shitty phone anyways because he's cheap but still! Don't bring a high quality phone or valuables and you'll be fine.
