I was invited to ride the Montreal REM (Réseau express métropolitain) on July 28th, 2023 - just before it was opened to the general public. This allowed me to film in the brand new train and stations without large crowds of people. I hope you enjoy this video... exciting times for Montreal :)

Congratulations Montreal. Well done! I really like the look of the trains and the stations. It's also good to see them use the additional security platform doors. Is this train considered heavy rail like a subway or a light rail line? However, there is one thing I didn't see and that was any artwork within the stations. Los Angeles Metro recently opened three new light rail stations and there is some wonderful artwork that is permanently part of all three stations. Though LA's Metro has a history of including artwork on their stations.

@AlbertMark-nb9zo

Its considered light rail, I believe. But automation means that the number of trainset per hour is shortened. Total number of passengers per hour per direction approaches the capacity of the the main line. During offhours, they will only use 2 car trainsets. During busy times, using 2 - 2 car trainsets, ie 4 cars.
