When it comes to a polished Konsul I’m like Wayne when he sees the white Fender in the window. “It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.” Once I’m done Christmas gift buying it’s a done deal. I bought the Konsul and love it. It replaced my Ambassador as my daily driver. Then I bought the Konsul XL. Though I hold them both in the same place. I found that after my stroke that affected my right had a bit, I could maintain a bit better control with the longer handle. My pinky gives it a bit more stability\control\whatever. Either way, I love the Konsul. Only thing I don't like is that I think the blade prongs (or whatever you call them) could have been a bit longer. Other than that, an amazing razor!

Hi Greg so glad you like your Konsul it's always a concern when you spend a lot of money on a razor Incase you don't get on with it. I don't have a Konsul but I do have an Envoy which I love. Enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work and keep well and keep safe.

Nice to hear how the Consul is working out. I need a good travel case for my 34G too. If you can believe it I have been ignoring the Ambassador for at least a week.

I actually use a leather case for my Ambassador. I bought it from a guy selling them at an art market. Handmade from cow leather. It happen to fit the razor perfectly. 🙂

pinch the top when you put the blade in with the edges of your fingers.. It helps mounting the blade!

I don’t care what anyone says about the Konsul-it is my FAVORITE razor! I daily drive it and it delivers the best, most comfortable, and no irritation shaves EVER! I switch it up with the ambassador just to add some spice to my morning shave routine, but yeah, I LOVE IT! I am happy to see you are enjoying it. What blades have you tried????

Still in the fence about a Rex, have had great success with my little Leaf Twig, but geeeees the Rex line looks Amazing!

Hello, front desk? Yeah, can I please change rooms? I don't like the lighting in this room and the wall color is playing havoc with my white balance. Do you have something with western exposure and sheer drapes that will diffuse natural light so I don't have harsh shadows?

Nice razor, any substitutes similar to this on a smaller budget? lol.

I've said it before, but I wish the Ambassador gave the same performance as the Konsul, because to me it has better ergonomics not being a slant style. My Konsul, Ambassador and Envoy XL are all well made and can give good results. But, due to having very sensitive skin and course stubble I look for a razor and blade combination that doesn't need multiple passes. I can easily achieve that with my PAA Copper Ascension Twist DOC razor, and I just received the all stainless steel version of it which I will use for the first time today. Dependent on the blade I can get a bbs with either a one pass or one pass with light touchup on problem areas. My criteria is to be able to start from under my bottom lip and run straight down my jaw and throat, and if it can do that without any drag or pulling I know it's a winner. I snug the handle on the Ascension and then back off the washer a quarter turn to attain perfection. To me it's a brilliant design with immaculate manufacturing, plus it's way less expensive than most of the top tier razors.

What does a $300+ razor do that a $25-$60 cannot do? I see prices go up and up but never see why they are so much better and so much more expensive. Pretty soon they will be $500+. Just curious. Thanks for the video.

Greg consider a gray hair in your mustache as a right of passage. The alternative is a life that was too short. My mustache and goatee is all grey at this point. As we get older it is easier to find perspective due to having more experiences. Have a great day!

I just had my first shave with the rex konsul and it was amazing! Tried it on level 6 to start with for the first pass but found it too much on my sensitive skin! So turned it down to 4 for my 2nd pass which felt more comfortable. So all in all a fantastic razor and well worth it thanks Rex razors for this razor, need to spend more time experimenting with different settings and blades. 🪒
