Nice review of the Aprilia. I live in the US and it’s much easier in my area to find service centers and parts for the Japanese bikes vs the Italian bikes. Based on that line of thinking I’d keep the R1 but that’s me. IMO nothing beats the sound of the R1.
Service convenience is definitely a huge factor for me as well. We have zero aprilia dealers. I had trouble finding a simple oil filter ( had to special order it and wait ). I could only imagine the headache if I needed more in depth parts. I have a Yamaha dealer walking distance from my house so extremely convenient on that side of things.
Bro, i have 2018 R1 and 2015 RSV4, they both awesome bikes, but depending on the generation and features, in my case i would keep the R1. But in your case i would keep the aprilia since it has less miles and more features, just my opinion
@ThuTran-jk4ew We think alike! I just sold the r1 but I miss it a lot. How do you like the new generation R1? I’m planning to ride my RSV4 for another season but eventually want to sell it for the new R1 especially since they are discontinued now. That or upgrade to the rsv4 1100 ( but they don’t seem to be as reliable )
@@JT2JZ you cant go wrong with either one, the R1 is unique in its own way, one of the best looking bike out there, sound is very comparable to RSV4 and yes probably more reliable since its Japanese made. RSV4 on the other hand is the best sounding bike, smooth engine and power is super linear, looks is not as pretty as R1 but still a good looking bike, and yes the feature and the aprilia feel probably worth the maintenance. Being rare make it special, great characters, im keeping them both at the moment, but we do think alike, i would sell the RSV4 for the newer version
Smiled at your comments with the Aprilia, complicated menu system, limited practicality, clattery valve train, hotter than Hades, typical Italian Superbike! Tough question on which to keep, go with which makes you feel most special. All the flaws are forgotten by how special you feel when riding these types of bikes. The Ducati 1299 does this for me where as the R1 is better for the road in every way but just doesn’t have quite the sense of occasion. Cast practicalities aside and go with an emotive decision, only you can make that call.
Even with all the quirks I do love this bike more than any other bike I have tried. I really want to try a Ducati 1299 as well! I Will have a Ducati of some kind on the channel eventually I just don’t know if it will be a V4 or L twin.
@@JT2JZI have a 959 Panigale and it is special even after being an Aprilia tech for awhile. The L twin Ducati’s have a great power band, I’ve never ridden a V4 but nobody complains about those either.
