FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Seattle Pipe Club "Give Me Liberty" - Or Give Me A New Pipe Blend! 

As far as I'm aware the distinction between a plug and a crumble cake comes from what form the tobacco is in before it was pressed. A plug is made from whole leaf tobacco (or large pieces of leaf) and a crumble cake is made from ribbon (or similar) cut. Some people think that if it isn't extremely dense then it has to be a crumble cake rather than a plug, but a crumble cake only comes from loose cut up tobacco. I have not smoked or handled either Give Me Liberty or Hogshead so I couldn't say for sure how it was processed, though it does look like pressed ribbon cut in this video which would make it a cake.

I had the same troubles in my review! I did not give it a high rating but I am hopeful that, after cellaring it for a year, it will be a good blend. I did not get any of the hay that I expect from Virginias and it was a tad on the acidic side for taste. Giving it some time in a mason jar should bring down the acidic quality. Another negative is that these tins are $35-$40. They are 4oz but that is only twice as much as the normal 1.75-2oz tins that sell for $12-$15. I think coming down a little on the price would make these blends a little more accessible to pipe tobacco folks. I’m looking forward to see what you think about this blend once you tried it for a little longer. Stay safe, 👍🏼

I think you should bring the pricing of this tin into your review. I'd love to try it but 33 bucks for a 4oz tin is way to much, and makes me wonder if there's not other similar or better blends with fairer prices. It would be nice if you commented similar blends on your final review!

This stuff is great and I managed to get someone who only smokes aromatics to try and and he enjoyed it quite a bit. The only problem is the moisture level. I didn't jar this one for weeks after I opened it. It's still pretty moist now but it's smokeable at this point at least.

I wonder how much casing they`re using for this baccy, I like it sweet but sweet to the point it`s obvious sugar/honey casing has been added then not my thing. Thank you for this review!

I wish I could try more from SPC, plum pudding is phenomenal, I would smoke nothing but in the cooler months But their prices have gotten ridiculous over the years! For Sutliff! I’m on the hunt nowadays for a replacement Glad I snagged a pound of plum pudding for my cellar before the prices skyrocketed Even happier that I have my friend Bradley to try these for me
