In this video I go over my first time actually competing in a competition to see where I size up. I took second place and found out a lot about myself when it comes to archery. And thats what makes this so exciting, Looking to see the growth day in and day out! Just wait, I will get better and better and will continue to put in the work to get better. I'm taking this as a stepping stone and plan to really get after it one day at a time.
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!

I would definitely say I wouldn’t count as a loss because you always gain one thing if not a few. Experience is one thing you gained which is an important part of the equation. Keep shooting. Congratulations! It’s mind over matter if you don’t mind it doesn’t matter.

Oh yeah for sure, not a total loss at all. It was fun to break down all of my own shot process and how it held up during shooting. So I definitely left with a few things I wanted to test and see if I could improve it.

303 is still a damn fine score with a hunting bow. Its a great start and when you can make time to learn to be better, you will def get where you want to go. Congratulations

Dude thanks. I'm excited to really figure this out for sure. shooting is getting more and more fun the deeper I go. Can't wait to really get my form more consistent! #BeBetter is always the goal. One day at a time.

Congrats on the 2nd place! 1st time in a archery competition and getting 2nd is hell of a achievement! Plus using a hunting bow is a big handycap against target setups. Just see every competition as practice for future events and don`t lose the fun. As most of us do im sure you will also end up with a sh*tload of bows over the years, so maybe there will be a target bow just waiting for you ;) Keep up the shooting and greetings from germany!

Man thanks for the encouragement! I definitely want to keep going and who knows maybe I'll be getting a target bow soon. I'm definitely ready for one at this point. What target bows are you running? Any suggestions for me? And man me losing love for this sport is very unlikely. There is something special about it. Even on the bad days I find myself just wanting to do it more and more. But again thanks for the encouragement. We gotta keep having each other's backs. And dang man that's a long ways from me. That's pretty cool you saw the video! That in it self puts a smile on my face.

@@walderman55 you`re welcome mate, def a fan of your excitement for archery!! About target bows: currently i own none, but i had the pleasure to try some. I really liked OK (german brand dunno if they are available in the US) and the PSE Lazer/Citation. Not a big fan of the Title, wich is kinda strange becasue i love my Lift. But with everything in archery you have to try an shoot some arrows with them. But even with you current hunting rig you can lower the letoff to minimum % to get a more stable backwall. Helps alot with form and concistent muscle tention too. I did that to all my huntingbows as well. im shooting 99% 3D (bowhunting is not allowed in germany) and targets only to test new setups or to sight in a new scope. i live in bavaria (south germany) right next to the austrian border so we are surrounded by the alps and tons of 3D courses like they build for TAC. It is 3d and fieldarchery dreamland over here, especialy in Tyrol/Austria. Yes mate, there realy is something magical to archery! It can be the most excruciating course and bad weather, but i always smile like a child when i hit center :) Plus spending time with family and friends, meeting awesome new people and the endles tech talks are pure fun. Only bad thing is, i`ll never be as good as my wife, she`s a killer hahahaha. Cheers and have a awesome time shooting!

You're on the right track. The more competitions in which you participate, the more relaxed you'll feel at them. It's different shooting with an audience (even a small one). Regardless, second place to a seasoned target archer is respectable. A little tweak here and there so you're not fighting anything in your setup, and you'll be golden 👍

Thanks dude, That's the plan! Maybe one day we will cross paths and I'll be able to see how you shoot that Darton in person. Looking forward to the day when we cross paths. I mean hopefully I get blessed with the Long Horn mini haha😂 (hint hint) haha but beyond that. Keep doing what you are doing! I love seeing it!

High off is going to cause you to miss low left because of face pressure on the string usually. Nerves and aiming hard results in bearing down on the string most of the time, and you don’t even realize you’re doing it. Hope that helps. But nice job!

Good to know for sure! I wish I had video to look back on my face pressure, I'm definitely curious about it. So just one more thing to help refine the process. Thanks for taking the time to share.

i shoot a v3x 29 and a title 36 . with my V3X in hand im not out shooting my title even on my best day its hard to beat that bow lol. much respect for holding your own thats something to be proud of . its very rewarding to out shoot a target bow with a "hunting bow" , that underdog feeling. i like small diameter arrows in my bow but i know big arrows are popular for target shooting but i shoot 3D mostly. Never stop shooting all things are possible.
@walderman55
@walderman55 2 месяца назад
Dude that's the truth! Underdog definitely feels good. I mean one day I'll upgrade! But for now I'm going to keep shooting the crap outnod this bow. Because at the end of the day. The bow has one job. And they all do it pretty well. I am the real limiting factor so it's fun working through my issues for sure. And yeah those big arrows definitely grab some lines. But for training small diameter are super humbling. And remind me how far off I am. And thanks I'm definitely going to keep the arrows flying. It's too fun to shoot to stop now.

@@walderman55 i shot my v3x 3-4 days a week since it came out, up until the end of april when i got the Title. im on my 4th set of strings on the v3x . Target bows make you stay true to yourself and that backwall. they dont have the deep valleys. they just wanna go when you slack up. when i shoot against someone else i just remind myself that every bow is better than the shooter. you and the other shooter are the limiting factors in how well the bows perform. its always enjoyable to humble the people that run out and buy the latest and greatest but don't spend time to get it dialed in.

@@cseckel62 dude I agree with everything you just said. I legit have shot the lights out of my bow as well. Random question, have you had any issues with your limbs with your V3X? I'm shooting 31.5 at 75 lbs and I've had a few issues with my limbs. Mathews has been great about it. But I've been wondering if it's just the amount I shoot. Or something else. But beyond the random information haha the idea of us being the only limhiting factor is so on point. And the idea of out shooting a higher end set up with a hunting rig is definitely fun! Makes my heart feel good. Lol man they way you think about archery makes me want to shoot with you haha no lie. Keep those arrows flying. Maybe one day we will cross paths. I plan on shooting 3d next year as well.

@@walderman55 im gonna guess i have around 30k+ shots out of my v3x. i have shot it at 55,60,70 and 75lbs but 90% of the shots have been at 70lbs with a 28.5 draw. i never had an issue with the bow or the limbs the rest has worn out the felt on the QAD a few times but thats about it. i did have a v3x 33 for a little while i bought used and replaced a few parts on it , and could never figure out why it felt weird when i shot it. i ended up selling it and going back to my 29. i think you will have a great time with 3D its a great community of people and the ever changing shots make it fun. i shoot local 3D events and travel for things like TAC and R100 which are always a great time if you never looked into those i think you should see if they have events in your area you can shoot them for fun too. hopefully i run into you on a 3D course. thanks for the great replys. you may have inspired me to make archery content for my YT channel.

@@cseckel62dude that's so weird you say that. I have such a weird relationship with my 33 I mean some days it's shooting like dream. Then other days in hearing all types of cricks and having weird arrow flight. I always said it was my fault. But idk. I love it. But it has its quirks so I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with that. lol I'm still going to shoot a 300, 30X. And man I know I will love 3D. Once I went to TAC and shot those 3d targets I knew I was going to have to figure out the sport of archery. The indoor is a form of learning my shot. The outdoor game definitely seems more my speed. But honestly it's too early to say either way. But man I just want to shoot all the time lol And lastly!!! Do it!!! Record and post my guy!! It's fun! Just do one main video a week and use it as a form of accountability! It's legit super fun. And the weeks you don't record because of life. That's cool because there are no rules! Either way! I'm looking forward to your first video. I'll be keeping my eyes open for it!
