would spin probably all the way to 4th gear on street....maybe low 10 pass on street once it hooks up, I would bet stock 720S would beat on street as this 720S is probably close to 950WHP. @@richardrace237
@@begoneignorant8597 .There is no way on gods green earth that that dude spent half million on an exhaust downpipe and tune. That is all he has done too that 720,
I heard you guys were going to go for the record that day.. glad you achieved it so quick... Now for 8.8s lol, congrats guys..and that Driver Mod though.. probably not a better driver on the planet for a straight line race in a 720s..
Congrats to everyone involved. Can't wait to see it go even faster. With times like these I don't see how do you have the willpower to leave yours stock
I agree but really only now. Let's see if he really can drive that, see that out come and know he has the platform to start, without doing the mods. He has held out forever though but this was other worldly. 👌
Great teamwork to make this happen. I really enjoy the channel and it’s one of the reasons I decided to get a 720. Keep up the great work an innovation.
zolikoff It’s pretty well known that it is possible. The technology and physics behind it are all easily explained and leaves no reason to doubt it. Electric motors make known amounts of power in easily predictable ways. Nothing they claim is outside of today’s tech.
@@brandonpayne7240 I agree it's possible, case in point this video right here. There's nothing magic about the specs. But the actual car itself doesn't seem to exist yet, and who knows when they'll have the time & money to deal with it.
Now this is a time travel car. Brooks looks old walking outside then transforms into a giddy teenager once inside! 😁 Congrats to the team! (albeit really late by now)
You should record these kind of trips more often! Cool seeing what goes on before the scenes. Would like to see the after party as well when setting records!
DAMN, if a McLaren could launch like a lot of other cars you would be in almost mid 8s no problem.. my 60 foot has been 1.2 and you're already faster by the 1/8 Mile I can't imagine what you would do with a harder launch.. maybe next you guys could look into a better drag racing setup for suspension and find a way to make it work with the 720s,
Luke R First of all the 720s does the 1/4m in 10s flat, and second, the reason why modifying is acceptable is because you can do it unlike with almost any electric car, you cant modify them to get better performance where as with Petrol cars you can Modify them as much as you like so it does count, like try modifying a Tesla to go faster... oh wait you cant not possible which makes the 720s the winner
I was just about to say, put the wing down. Ran 8’s on 20’s, That car is a 7 sec car with a more aggressive tune ( maybe bigger turbos, supporting mods) and a better tire package . Ecu in the wheel well is a little strange. Great video 👍
@@cristianovitali5021 yes i feel the same were in an era where i believe the top dogs will be running 9.10 to 9.50's stock and still wonder if the speedtail will go for the top speed record like it's Aero indicates
Erik Britz Absolutely not going for top speed. Likely won’t even be within 25mph of the current record which is due to be beaten. Nothing about the car indicates top speed. It’s aero indicates well, being aerodynamic. Anything about top speed is your assumption. The car is meant to be a luxury grand tourer, not a track car, or a drag car. 250-260mph is what I expect the top end to be.
@@brandonpayne7240 lol wtf you talking about go learn a bit more about the shape it's modeled after they use that same shape for landspeed Records dumbass and mclaren themselves stated it's all for top end the cars the replacement of the F1 longtail the mclaren rumoured to have had the highest top end between the three different mclaren f1's wait here is a car that set Records shaped exactly like the speedtail why cause long rounded shapes move faster through the air with less drag something tells me your not into land speed records or top end vehicles ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0a99QvKjNvU.html
@@brandonpayne7240 this car did between 250-320mph due to the shape aero and power the long tail has more power and a similiar build so what's it gonna do use your brain
@@Jason74357 there are 1100+ whp 720S out there. Just need to get the level of support DME or Dyno Spectrum provides to get the car to put the power down
@@mcplutt Won't happen we know that already thanks for playing. Why that even important, street racing is illegal. All that said, I bet you can get low 2.0's out of the car on dusty surface streets.
@@dj4monie you do realise that there is a video from the Roadster release where there is someone from Tesla that keeps doing 0-60 in 1.9 sec constantly with different people on the passanger seat on a tarmac portion? not a prep drag strip with heated tyres...on normal tarmac with regular tyres on outside temperature....you do realise that do you? that was a prototype but if they can do it once they can mass produce it. why do you all hate on Tesla so much?
@@tcroft2165 in my case of having the same issue I was referring to intra-European flights (airline was either BA or LH). We both actually had physical seat tickets issued at a machine/counter.
