Morning light video of a massive mudslide that struck Forest Falls, CA and Seven Oaks yesterday as Tropical Storm Hilary made landfall. Multiple homes were damaged, roads and bridges washed away, and trees lay scattered
This happens at Forest Falls all the time. They clean it up and wait for the next one. It's the nature of the land in those mountains. It's built on alluvial flood drainage but it's a damn pretty area if you dont mind being washed out on occasion. No one will insure against it if you build in that drainage valley.

It was a cabin there and the outhouse is all that remains. The other nearby buildings were mud damaged but overall intact. Probably a lot of damage inside
This is the state of affairs we are in thanks to hypocrites and human ignorance in general. The Universal Law of Cause and Effect is enough of an explanation.
Definitely sorry for the few homeowners but this is California folks, this is minor stuff. It was a wonderful rainfall event with overall very minimal damage in the state. I live in Ojai so the benefit of the 5.1 earthquake sure did make it a wonderful day. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 aftershocks so far. Cut the crap with the stupid violin music! I keep waiting for a woman to pop up in a small corner of the video crying just to add even further dramatics.
