Miku (red rose) is the founder and writes their lyrics. Miku is more of a co-vocalist and actually does a lot of singing, especially In their earlier songs. “Thrill” was their first song released and holds a lot of sentimental value for me. I heard it back in 2016 and became instantly hooked on Band Maid.

Since then was taught to play guitar by the lead player and is a great rhythm guitarist.. now has her own Zemaitis signature guitar: the 'Flappy Pigeon'. She took over lyric writing early on and her work is strong. She's an unstoppable force of nature 💪❤🤘🤘🤘
Yay🎉 This is what started it all. Nostalgia and cuteness. They were so good at their ages; we can catch a glimpse of the superstars 💫 they would soon become. I believe if not for the surprise bass feature handing over to the guitar solo, it wouldn’t have generated as much attention as it did. And that MISA to Kanami handoff has become a consistent “Band Maid Thing” to this day.
Yes that is Miku. She started the band, and she was the original lead singer, but they needed a more rock-like voice, so they found Saiki. Miku does have her own lead-only songs. To hear her on lead vocals, try Sayonakidori acoustic.
Maddie, Of course, Miku (the founder of the band) is the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. She does take the lead on some songs to give Saiki, the lead vocalist a break. Kanami is the lead guitaraist, Misa is the bassist and Akane (ack and aka a nea) is the drummer. The songs that Miku sings lead are "The Rock In Me", and "Sayonakidori". Both are fast paced songs, but Miku does a wonderful job on "Sayonakidori" in the RU-vid Bad Maid's acoustic Christmas Okuji (concert) in December 2022.That entire acoustic concert is incredible. You really need to check out the songs from it. The video shows that not only can the young women rock hard, the can play their rock songs with a much lighter touch.
Seeing the Maids live and up close in a small, intimate club is a "Thrill" of a lifetime. One should consider themselves lucky to experience them like this because it's becoming rare. And as for sound... it'll be the best hard rockin' sound you can imagine -- clear, discreet, powerful and full of energy and joyful vibes! Forgot to say that Miku (band founder and rhythm guitar) sometimes takes the lead vocal role. Therre's a superb example of her doing this on their YT channel and it's from the acoustic concert they streamed on xmas day 2021. They wore their own choice of clothes for the day instead of their stage outfits and all agreed they'd wear only Santa red and Reindeer brown/beige for the gig! There are two songs from the gig on their YT channel but the one where Miku sings solo (well almost, as Akane, the drummer, puts in some lovely backing harmonies too at a couple of points, a rarity) is called ‘SAYONAKIDORI’, which means ‘Nightingale’ and translates, very beautifully, as SA (small) YO (generally meaning night but also, very specifically, the Hours Of The Tiger, between 3 and 5 am) NAKI (singing) DORI (bird). It's a real delight and, as they played duets and trio's as well as the full band during the gig, this has MISA on electric bass, Akane on drums and Miku on acoustic guitar and vocals. In the beginning there was a small pigeon 🐦 who met a guitarist 🎸 who played with a drummer 🥁 who went to school with the bassist 🎸 and then tricked the singer 🎤 to join the band then the small pigeon 🐦 asks the guitarist 🎸 please teach me how to play the guitar 🎸. The Story Continues.
Good to see you going back to the one that gave them notaryity I'm 62 and this entire album reminds me of that classic rock sound love it but for me it's freeze and shake that if you do those please do the studio version
When they originally recorded this song, Saiki the Primary Lead Vocalist had either just turned 21 or was getting ready to turn 21. And at the beginning, Miku the Secondary Lead Vocalist and Saiki would trade verses depending on the song. And Kanami the Lead guitarist will and has done more in backing vocals in the earlier years. Currently though Kanami's, Akane's and MISA's vocals are added to the backing track, although sometimes Kanami will still sing along.

Miku, aka the pigeon, also has her own project, just for fun. Her band is called "cluppo" and in March 2022 she released the first CD. It's called "hatofull." Peace & Love and Flapping Wings are two songs for which they have also released music videos. They are worth checking out. "Peace & Love" is a song I really like on the album.
'Thrill' is their very first Music Video from years ago. If it had not gone viral the label was going to dump them. Yes, Miku sang. She was going to be the lead singer. She's the founder. She got the idea when she worked in a Maid Cafe'. But she also felt her voice just wouldn't be strong enough for the Hard Rocking band she had envisioned to contrast to The Maid Look. She always wanted dual vocals anyway. So she dropped back to the backing vocal position and had lead guitarist Kanami teach her rhythm guitar. Look closely and you'll see, she's not really paying in the video. They found Saiki working with the same agency and they were off to the races, the rest is history, etc...
Its a pity everyone starts with Thrill just because it has the most views because its only because its the oldest video and they have so many songs and wouldn't it be a shame iff you never heard DICE, BLOOMING , PUZZLE, ABOUT US, SECRET MY LIPS, CHOOSE ME, FREEZER, I'll be here all night. This is an older song (this is their first MV), from about 8 years ago. this song was not written by the band. At this point in time, their label still had songwriters providing songs for them. As for the singers, Miku (the one with the guitar) is typically the back-ground singer, but she does do lead vocals occasionally to give Saiki (the main singer) a break.

You know Miku could not even play the guitar in this video, Kanami has had to teach her over the years. Now, due to all her hard work the band are able to continue to push themselves forward to even more creative song writing.
Rumor had it that MISA wanted to leave the band in 2016. However, after their performance at the Anime convention in Seattle that year, she changed her mind. They did not write "Thrill". "Yuragu", "Freedom" and "Alone" from "Brand new Maid" were the first songs they wrote lyrics for on an album with Yuragu the first complete song they wrote (lyrics and music).

They didn't write this song. In fact it wasn't until the third album (last track "Alone") that they were allowed to record their own song. They were lucky to have some great songwriters early on. It's been 99% Band-Maid since.
This song was my introduction to Band-Maid back in 2015. I became a fan of the band on that day. It's far from their best song, but it is their most important. The success of this video convinced their management company to stick with the band. Had the video failed, management was going to split them up for other projects (they were all under talent contracts). While there are over 100 Band-Maid songs that I consider to be better than this one, it's still a great song. That's just how good Band-Maid is.
