Sounds like a good honest review! Thank you for that. I just ordered a pair for the more rugged terrain out in west Texas. There is nothing close to the border that grows that doesn't have stickers. I was afraid the obsidian foundry wouldn't stand up to all the stickers. I was hoping the dump zips would have been more productive. So thanks for giving me some insight on that even though I got it to late. I really enjoyed and appreciate the honesty. Works for me!! God bless

Furnace top here, and it’s definitely a mainstay in my cold weather gear. I actually don’t hunt but work outside and spend lots of time outdoors. Firstlite makes great stuff and I actually learned about them from watching Survivor. Clay Hayes, the winner of one of the seasons was wearing the furnace stuff and mentioned how merino wool was such a great tool for outdoor people and hunters.

Well that’s pretty cool. They do make some great stuff!

Thanks for the great review. I'm not much of a hunter myself but I've been trying to replace my old worn out 400gsm Henley's I wear on the farm for months now with no luck. Saw these an thought just maybe the fleeced insides might make up for the weight/warmth difference but wasn't convinced tell I saw ur review. So thanks you.

Totally agree…. I hunted in MN last night… not super cold… it was 33 degrees when I got off the stand but I never bothered putting on my jacket… I just had a light jacket to break any wind but my warm jacket never left my pack…. U picked right with the quarter zip… wish I went with that over the Henley but I typically don’t like things rubbing on my neck… I wear mine over my FL kiln layer and that setup keeps me super warm

Thanks for the review. Looking at getting these. 5'10", 145lbs would you think the smalls would be the best?
@ReviewThisThing
@ReviewThisThing 3 года назад
Thanks for watching, Andrew! I think at 145, Smalls should be good! I’d be afraid a medium would be too big. If you haven’t subscribed, please do while you’re here 😊

Bought the bottoms and man are they great. Usually wear Under Armor 4.0 baselayer but they aren't in the same league as these. Looking at purchasing the top but was wondering if it is long enough to tuck in. My work shirt that I will wear over it is really thin made out of quick dry material and I'd like to tuck the First Lite baselayer into my pants.
@ReviewThisThing
@ReviewThisThing 2 года назад
That’s a great question. How tall are you/how long is your torso?
@ReviewThisThing
@ReviewThisThing 2 года назад
Okay. So I was waiting on my husband to try his. He is 5’10” also and has a medium that he would be able to tuck in. The back of the shirt is a little longer than the front, so that helps. I hope that helps.

Curious on the durability of the zippers and Velcro a year later? I love the idea of being able to zip them off but would hate it if a zipper broke as they are not cheap!
@ReviewThisThing
@ReviewThisThing Год назад
They are definitely not cheap! So far mine and my husband’s are still holding up very well. Now, I have only used them for hunting, so they’re not something I’ve worn a hundred times, but so far still good! And they’re so warm!
