First Look | 2023 Mazda CX-5 Premium Plus 

I like the fact that models are available with or without the turbo. I’m not 100% sold on the turbo. If it’s adequately powered for me without it, I wouldn’t bother with it.

Mine is exactly like that...Revolution Top in Slovenia...same in black, plus mudguards and roof luggage rails. I waited more than a year🥹...but now I'm happy...the car "gets under my skin" more and more day by day. Jinba ittai indeed. Greetings from Slovenia😉👍

Another great review of the amazing CX 5 just one thing you forgot to mention is with the electric tailgate. It is also hands-free feature using your foot under the rear bumper in the middle will also open the tailgate when your hands are full. 😊

I currently drive a 2020 CX 5 GT Turbo will still stay with Mazda for my next car in 2024. Definitely will want Turbo or the new inline 6.

Mine is coming soon. It is in transport to the dealer as I speak! Premium Plus has everything ....nice vehicle!!!

I love the turn signals on the cx30. Very smooth. They should apply that to all models. Gives it a luxury feel

I bought the '22 Turbo last August. Same as this Premium Plus .....but with more " zoom zoom" 😊 I've driven both trims, after test driving the turbo you won't settle for the NA trim lines

I have a 2015 Touring CX5, I love my suv. Of course I don’t have the latest add ons, but, I 😢don’t want to trade. Runs great, the only thing I would change is the position of the clock, and of course add a compass

Jonathan- do you have a video where you position the CX-5 with the CX-50? In other words, a customer comes in and asks how to decide between the two. Love the channel and keep the videos coming.

When do they bring the ambient lights , I feel this feature will lift the overall interior to the next level

After watching myriad RU-vid videos, I now have a beautiful ‘23 CX-5 Eternal Blue Signature: not a common car. Slowly learning how to use all the features. A huge improvement over my ‘20 Lexus NX. A few minor gripes about the short center armrest and can’t rest my elbows on the console and the drivers door at the same time due to my narrow width. Also wish it had a power adjustable steering wheel and memory seat exit. Still, I’m very impressed and can’t help staring at the exquisite blue paint.

Love the CX-5 but hate the pinstripe. If my dealer required that, I'd walk.

Why does your dealership pinstripe all your vehicles? I’ve never seen anyone else do this. I thought this option stayed in the 80’s?

I am surprised, he did not mention that 2023 added the i-stop function to the engine - as the engine tuns off at stop lights unless you turn the system off. It saves some gas over the 2022.

Waiting for CX-70 2025 hybridization will they redesign..? hopefully

Im slowly getting ready to get one of these next year. My only concern is with the gauge cluster screen and what info can be on there and whatnot. Wish there was a video walkthrough of it!

Wow. Still the old control knob for the radio. The new one feels so much better.

Well I have a premium and I tell ya. Nightmare! Constant front camera malfunction and there is no way to turn off DRL. I've been waiting almost a month for a front camera replacement and still nothing. 2 different dealership stated it had no idea when parts will be available. 3 different malfunction alerts show in dash and it is very annoying

I can’t take my eyes off that horrific pin stripe. May be better if it goes down to the head lights but I generally rip that stripe off immediately after delivery.

Hi Johnathan, is it functional to use Off-road drive mode to drive in 4-5 inches of snow?

I owned a 2004 Mazda Tribute and loved it until I didn’t. I had repeated transmission issues at the 90k mileage and my mechanics never figured it out. Please tell me they have fixed those issues. Would love to buy one in the future.

Mazda should have integrated the new keyless entry on the door handles like the cx50 and 3 that button on the handle is really outdated for 2023 come on Mazda.

Don’t want the turbo!? CX-5 is a dog without the turbo. With it, probably the best overall buy in its class.
