Let’s face it, if you camp, you have to have a campfire….Period. The warm glow, the crackling and popping, the billows of smoke…wait! How about a campfire with much less smoke? Enter the solo stove Bonfire 2.0. The Bonfire builds upon the success of its predecessor to make enjoying a campfire even that much easier. The removable ash pan makes clean up after a fire easier than ever. No special tools needed, just pull out the removable ash pan once your fire pit is completely cool, and dump. No more lifting your entire fire pit to dump out ash! The new 2.0 units feature the same 360° Airflow Technology that allows for a smokeless fire and utilize the same stainless steel to maintain high durability. So, when you take your next rv adventure, weekend trip with your teardrop trailer, or cross country road trip in your van, maybe the solo stove will tag along for the ride.
Other new models in the line-up: Solo stove is also adding the Ranger 2.0, Bonfire 2.0, & Yukon 2.0 to its line-up.

Who would of thought that an idea from the look from inside an old washing machine design would be the new Generation fire pit. Genius. I have the ranger, I absolutely love solo stove and best ever. Who ever thought this is amazing.

I think the gap for the ash pan needs to be there, because air comes up through the bottom.
@pikabill
@pikabill Год назад
You just emptied it wrong. Lift the ash grid straight up with 2 fingers and dump those ashes, then dump the bottom tray. It won’t leave anything behind. You just dumped the grid back into the stove.

Nice review! FYI (because you haven’t had the chance to see how others clean, or solo’s ads which explain the ash pan size so you wouldn’t know), the ash pan needs to be that size so the airflow from the bottom can feed up into the chamber by going up from under and around the ash pan on up. Also, many ppl take a small brush and sweep the ash on the edges towards the middle of the grate so when they pick up the grate, all the ash is in the ash pan … so when you pick up the ash pan, none/minimal amounts fall out beyond the ash pan underneath so you don’t have residue on the bottom after lifting out the ash pan. :)

Love your videos. I have one of the original Solo Stoves. The bulk of the oxygen for the fire comes from the bottom. I have a feeling that if the ash pan were larger it would block the air intake at the bottom. That may be why the ash insert should be inserted with the cone down so the ash makes it to the pan.

I have the Ranger and love it. I use equine wood pellets for fuel mostly. I built a tripod to hold my plow disk griddle and the ranger provides the heat for cooking.

Great video Michael. I think they probably work well, but I love to actually watch the flames wander around the logs as they burn. You can't see that in these "cans". Plus, cost is on the high end for many of us.

9:05 The ash lid was installed upside down and instead of lifting out but knocking all the ash down it went to the bottom.

That ash pan is a Massive improvement. See if you can get your buddies from him and clean That one out... You'll see this is nothing. And the color changing is such a minor gripe.... Heat up any stainless steel and see if it doesn't change color LoL

it looks pretty, is very much smokless, leaves no mess, and can be used on some campsites that dont allow open fires, but does have a few drawbacks. it burns through the wood very fast. All the heat goes straight up so you dont get much warmth when you sit around it

We used our Blue Sky just a bit ago. We used pellets for the initial burn, then put firewood in it once the flames started to get low. It does a nice job.

Never had one of these things but it seems to me that it burns wood at a faster rate than a regular old time campfire. I need the smoke to combat the mosquitos and I need to be able to spread out my coals for cooking.

Neat take-along. I just can't wait until all the burn bans lift here in Texas due to the dry weather. I'm missing my campfire cooking. BTW, I've seen you mention the Tear Jerkers in a couple of your videos. I'm the Lone Star Chapter (Texas) director and hope we can cross paths sometime in the future. If you're a TJ member, drop me a line on our chapter link.

Is that stainless steel; as thin as it sounds? Sounds like its super thin and makes me wonder on how it will hold up to the heat.

Nice stove! The flames looked mesmerizing. Shout out to Joann’s shoes! I have bad allergies too and I carry “Simply Saline” nasal spray to rinse out my airways before bed. Might be TMI but it totally solved my issues with camp smoke.

Not sure I see the benefit of this thing over the basic, free campground fire ring that will fit any size wood and you don't have to clean, pack and carry it on every trip.

I am in the normal firepit crowd, but looking at the cost of raw materials alone (remember those tariffs from a couple years back? Well once removed the price didn't go back as much because capitalism) plus labor etc the cost of American manufacturing kinda makes sense. You want Amazon prices well then you are getting Chinesium
@flaxjimdiaz9989

Many areas in the western part of the country don't allow wood fires............thus propane.

I am wanting to build a teardrop and still debating between buying vs building. I love having projects like this so will probably build. I have watched most of your videos. I am in E. TN also, very close to the I-26 and I-81 interchange; where are you? We have a Breeo fire pit that we like in the backyard but it is heavy. If I get a teardrop, I am going to buy one of these Solos to take with us, Thanks for all of the good build videos.

What? Lolol. Literally who told you that. 90% of homes around the US are built with fire elements (wood stoves/fireplaces) to begin with.

Smokeless, like stainless steel, are not no smoke, they are smoke “less”. Stainless steel can also rust, just a lot less that regular steel. So this is just you not understanding terminology.
