This is so great!! I actually started my own Beeswax Instagram shop. I learnt so much from your soy wax videos only and then experimenting 🤗🤗

I have my own beehives and use beeswax. It is harder to work with by itself. Different wicks (square wicks are nice) etc. Doesn't hold scent well. However it works well blended and alters burn time quite a bit.

Great video. What's the best wax for making wax brittle or wax melts?

I like the creamy flat top. Probably could have poured a little cooler or insulated them so they cooled slower. Nice wax over all, hopefully it has a nice hot throw!

If you want to avoid cracking, use a smaller wick. I use natural beeswax for my candles and mine never crack. I do get tunneling sometimes. You might have also poured it at not the right pouring temperature.

Jeff, what would happen if you added microcrystalline wax to this wax, would it help with the jar adhesion?

I use a soap cutter to cut my CocoApricot wax. Works perfectly and looks like it would be easier than the ice cream scoop.
@suzyweber2889
@suzyweber2889 3 года назад
the coco apricot wax is MUCH softer than this wax. i also use a soap cutter and it still takes A LOT of pressure to get through the beeswax coco creme. a slightly heated soap cutter might be the ticket for ease!

what are the diameters for the clear glass jars that you used? Also, I am working with a 2"-2.5" diameter. What would you recommend for a wooden wick width.

does anyone have any recommendations on avoiding the cracking? i had the same issues. loved the wax once things were fixed with the heat gun. like how it burns a lot more than i expected i would-immediately after the pour i wasn’t a fan because of the initial issues but once lit i have to admit i do like it. but i’m seeing the same issues after it cools after burning, slight hairline cracks barely visible but there or, a noticeable crack off each side of the wooden wick. thoughts? is this just the nature of the wax. or a bad pour job. or? curious because i’m seeing the same sort of tendencies in the wax as shown here.

When it comes to curing, you have to let it cure for 2 weeks just to test them?! I just made a few using the same wax but their for testing! Do I have to wait 2 weeks?

Hi Stanley, at what temperature did you melt the wax? I know coconut wax has to be melted at 200 degrees for best results.

I need to know this too. The company says 137? That doesn’t seem right to me but 🤷‍♀️

Great Video!! Just wanted to point out that your math is slightly off on fragrance %. If you add 1.3oz, it is only 7.5%. if you wanted a true 8%, you should divide 16oz by 92%. you get 17.4oz total batch size. you can then multiply this by 8% or subtract the original 16 oz and you will get 1.4oz for 8%. hope this helps.

I love beeswax and have made beeswax candles for years! However, it can be difficult to fragrance properly unless you blend it with another wax. Thank you so much for sharing your take on this wax. I currently blend my local beeswax with Coconut 83. After many tests, I think I finally have a wax with a good melt pool and scent throw. Will you be posting a part 2 about the scent throw? Thanks again! Love your channel.

Have you tried the coconut 83 on it's own? I just ordered a couple pounds of it and wanted to give it a try.
@kimjohnson5645

I have and really like it! I just wanted a wax that would be a bit harder and burn slower. That is why I added the beeswax.

Hi Kim, exactly. Even I have been trying to add scent after mixing coconut oil to the beeswax. But scent throw isn't great. Mayne different %age could help. I have tried 15% and 20% coco. What's the percentage for your blend?
