I think it’s more about the fact that this pedal is meant to shine as a lead tone for single note melodic soloing, but he spent the whole time playing arpeggios and power chords, which just sounded muddy. So, you joke and all, but some prog or fusion noodling would have actually showcased the pedal better, straight up.

I’m playing it with a strat through a 65 Princeton reverb reissue and have a tough time dialing in what I’m hearing on videos. I’m starting to think it’s a dud but know better because I’ve seen this movie before where I think it’s a dud but it’s just that I can’t dial it in properly. Wish me luck.

I have that exact guitar, but mine's blue, so there's no traffic in it.

@@benallmark9671 Sounds great through my Boogie Fillmore (which is sort of a half/Marshall half/Fender) and also really nice out of my Vox. I love my Fender amps, and a lot of fuzzes sound great out of 'em, but Muffs really need a big mid boost or they'll sound like mud. You can def run it through anything if you do the TS trick, but straight in, you'd want a brighter amp.

@@horrorview ya maybe that’s where I’m at them. I’m using a strat and playing it through a Princeton reverb tone master and just can’t seem to get it dialed in. In ideas ?

@@benallmark9671 I love my Princeton. I haven't tried the Tonemaster version but I've heard it in demos and it sounds great. Are you looking to get the Gilmour lead sound from the Ram's Head? If so, you can still do it with the Princeton, but you definitely want to roll the tone knob up to 3 o'clock, the sustain to around noon/1 o'clock, and bring the volume up to match the amp's unity gain. On the amp, roll back the bass to 3 and up the treble to 6 or 7. A strat is perfect. That's my guitar of choice for pretty much everything, but Gilmour played most of his muff-driven leads on the bridge pickup to counter the Ram's Head's boominess (and also had Flange and Delay on pretty much everything from Animals on! lol). While a stock Strat pickup isn't as hot as the Duncan Gilmour had in his black strat's bridge position, it'll do in a pinch! At the end of the day, though, it all comes down to what FEELS right for you. Tweak away until you're happy :)

There is no wrong way to fuzz, he’s playing In a more modern style, not sticking the pedal in the 70s where everyone locks them with the pedal, not enough reviews do this kind of stuff.
