Fine playing and awesome sound! Back in 1964, I used to pencil drawings of the Vibroverb during classes in high school. Never owned one. Wish I had one now. I did own a new '65 Jag, though. Wish I still had that, too. But, I'm lovin' this player Jag!
Man that Vibroverb is killer. Just killer. Not a bad guitar either. File the saddle just a mite deeper and you'll stop that string from popping out. Change to 10 gauge and you'll have to file the low E saddle a bit deeper too or it'll start doing the same thing. It's a common problem with Jags and an easy fix.
The “mud switch” you referred to was actually a strangle switch, which cut the low frequencies, not the high ones. Therefore, that switch can not be duplicated by the done control.

every time i hear some one say KURT COBAIN it has this dark punch to it maybe it is because he took his own life and that he was for the most part very un happy i don't know i am a huge fan but every time i hear his name it's the same feeling.
I've owned one for two years and have never once popped the string out of the saddle.So for anyone worried about that being a major issue, Its really not.I know everyone plays differently but still.

This guy has a sweet Howard Finster collection on the wall behind him...love seeing spirited folks respecting one of the greats of naive art.... I have loved the sound and design of the Jag ever since I laid eyes on it moons ago...am a terrible guitarist but want to move forward and get better after a hiatus in early parenting world...some questions for the real guitarists out there, is this a good rig to buy?...are the modern Mexican made guitars that much different to the U.S. made versions?...is there any design flaws that will throw a newb like me?...thanks ahead for any advice...happy playing!
Thinking about picking this up and changing the neck pickup to a humbucker, kinda like a Cobain model, but of course I don’t have 1640 dollars so I’ll stick with around 700
Nice review. While I love Tele's I'm more of a Gibson guy. I've had soft spot for Mustangs and had considered getting one. I had never considered getting a Jaguar as I didn't like the looks. This version however, does appeal to me. Love the new look and the pickup arrangement. One thing that does bother me is the switching arrangement. It looks like that Tele style pickup selector would get in the way with hard strumming (picking) with the right hand coming down on it. I would rather have a toggle switch in the upper shoulder (with the humbucker's coil cut switch being in the position of the selector switch). Other than that this model deserves some serious consideration on my part. What are your thoughts on the switching arrangement? Love your reviews. Love your playing. Thanks.
I got one of these in black (bought the other two chrome plates to put on it).Anyway that humbucker for me was awful. Couldn't find a decent tone.So I put an F spaced Dimarzio SD in the bridge and HOLY S#@T.What a difference it made.
The compressor in this demo is a little strong. Otherwise, pretty cool. I'd like to grab one of these, but I'm not sure if that trem system is all that stable for tuning.
What a great review! Your playing skills are fantastic. Could you please let me know what type of strap you're using in the video. I've been looking high and low for a quality strap that's thinner than most. Again, great job on the video.
@@UnknownSlayze It's a dialect thing, I suppose. From what I can tell from a quick Google search the "Jag-Wire" pronunciation is predominantly a Midwestern thing, while most other Americans say "Jag-War" and Brits say "Jag-You-Are".
@@UnknownSlayzeI haven't tried it, but I do like the looks and the pickup configuration. I own a few Jazzmasters, and I love the shape and vibrato system, so I imagine I would like this too. Sunburst is not my favorite color option though.
What a great playing! this Jaguar sounds fantastic...... I was planning to get one in capri color last year...but at the end I got a Duo Sonic HS (sienna burst).....Im wondering if I did the right choice?????

The 24 inch short scale will definitely add to the tuning issues. I have a duo sonic with the same scale length and it's a pain in the butt at times. I've also read the strings can hop off the saddle in this particular model. That being said I don't own one.
Guys...just because you couldn't be bothered to figure out setting a Jag up properly doesn't mean they were ever crappy. So sick of hearing that shit. You guys are a guitar magazine. Come on.
Well, when you're talking to the masses you want to give a hands-on rather than an under-the-hood. Original Jaguars (I love 'em by the way, don't get me wrong) were inscrutable at first and second glance you know? That's what I think is being said. This is also a "player series" which I presume is meant to be straight down. If you want the full shebang and can deal with the crazy, you go original all the way.
24 fret maple neck....which looks remarkably like rosewood from here. You work for premier guitar, should you really be looking at your computer, rather than looking at the guitar and talking us through the instrument. Lovely sound instrument all the same, but there is something up with the string spacing. I'd have a jazzmaster over a Jaguar myself, just personal preference. The tremolo on both the Jazzmaster and Jaguar have always been superior to the stratocaster.
