Heat it up, expansion breaks the rust, cool it down all the way, spray penetrating oil , rap with hammer , try to turn. Heat back up a small amount. Tks Turning it that hot will most often gaunt the threads.
Yep you have power on both tracks when you pull the leaver back half way then when you pull it all the way the one track stops and you turn fast it was the best system and it was originally on cletrac dozers and case bought the rights for it and it was the best system
Hey man, I have the loader version of that machine. While you’re in there, replace that right brake band. It’s done. I know a lot of steering issues on these things come from water in the oil or using the improper oil...then guys crank down the tension or expert a lot of pressure on bands and break them. If you’re having steering issues on both sides, I’d take the left off as well and clean it up. Removing the bands aren’t bad. Replacing them is a little more tricky just due to having to flex it around the drum. Still totally do-able.
I’ve had to do the right final drive twice, so I agree with you. I wouldn’t touch them if yours are still tight. Once that right final drive starts working loose, that’s when all the problems start. Cheers!
Thanks for another great video! It looked like there was more “pad” on the brake band on the right than the one on the left (when you had the rear case open). I wonder if some of the pad broke off that brake band on the right and allowed for enough flex for the steel to start digging into the “drum”? The one on the left has pad all the way to the end of the brake band. I think would replace that brake band (probably both while I’m in there) or else it’s just gonna keep digging into that drum and get worse as the band wears.
