In this video I share my experience revealing my look with my men's wig for the first time and some other recent outings. I also share some tips and some things I learned through the process.
I have to comment on your statement of wearing a wig would be obvious to people. I wore a (unit) hair piece for many years. The only thing obvious in my experience was that I looked different. NO ONE said they noticed a was wearing a hair piece. The most common comment was they thought I had lost weight! (I wish). No one in all my years of wearing a hair piece did anyone ask? I was fortunate to have a hair stylist friend who also wore a hair piece, and his talent was unsurpassed in making the hair look .ike it was growing right out of my head. My one suggestion is to not change your style drastically. My forehead was always exposed before I started wearing a hair piece of obvious reasons. So when I chose my first hair piece, I made sure it was off my face as well. I’ve gone for 15 years without wearing a hair piece because I was tired of the upkeep. Now I’m considering purchasing the Classic wig from HIM. Kudos to you Nick for exposing yourself to us to help us through this potentially traumatic process.
I love your explanation of the social process for you. That brand - you can just do it with confidence. You don’t need to be socially anxious. You are not a bald head. It forces them to see you, not your bald head.
Looks amazing! Thank you for posting your videos. It's really helped me to decide to purchase one of these, which I just did today. I ordered the same one, but a different color..hoping that I can get it to look half as good as yours haha!! Thanks again and hope you are doing well.
That is really a winning color. It goes well with your skin tones. I left another recommendation about softening the front hair line with a fine tooth comb.
It looks really good, but then again you are a very handsome man. I’m considering buying one. My hair is just thinning but my hairline is fine. I guess I’ll go with the grayish one. Well done and thank you for the video. It’s helped me make a decision. 👍
Well I’m over the Atlantic on my way to Newark and the wigs been fine, I didn’t tell the Crew before the flight and when I told them they were surprised and very complimentary, it was very warm in the UK today and I did notice the lace front lifted a little, probably due to me sweating, a dab of glue and it’s looking ok. I’ve been wearing it now for over 10 hours which if I’m honest is a long time and by the time we land and get to the hotel it will be 13 hours so I’ll be looking forward to taking it off but all in all I’m happy and feel confident, David
It looks great. The concept with wearing a wig, and this goes for men and woman, is that you have to OWN it. Our insecurities will always be known to people. But if your confident and people sense that in you , they dare not say anything to you YOU JUST HACE TO OWN IT
100% agree with you there. Half the battle is actually just getting over your insecurities and owning it. If you are confident in wearing it, others will care less that it's a wig (if they even notice).
"But if you're confident and people sense that in you..." Yeah, you should do that with your baldness. Just own it and have confidence, then you won't feel the need to wear a wig. Anything natural is better
people not saying anything to you is not a result of you "just owning it". They are being polite. When you walk away they say, "eww that wig, he would look better being bald." And personally, I'm attracted to confidence, whether your fat, bald, flat ass, whatever. A wig to me says lack of confidence and it makes you look older.
@@psor9983 who gives a fuck what people say behind your back. That shows YOUR lack of confidence if your concerned with what people say behind your back and not doing something or anything that makes YOU YOURSELF HAPPY
DUDE! Thanks for sharing. So, it's been a few yrs now since you posted this - any updates? You're inspiring & I think it will help many others become comfortable with themselves. So, how is your impression of the HIM products now?
Undetectable, looks great and I appreciated hearing your story about beginning wearing hair you wear and rest assured, it looks flattering. The most difficult thing is confidence; when you receive compliments on your haircut then you know you're on the right track - wig wearing is a long-term commitment and if you're prepared to go through the extras to get the final result then I can't see any difference to a man wearing a good unit to wearing coloured contacts, a well-crafted bespoke suit or shoes - perhaps, high quality hi-fi media components or silk bedsheets - anything that enriches your life experience, all more power to you. I'm interested to know if now in 2019, you're still a faux hair fan or otherwise?
Very Handsome both ways but edgy and cool with more hair...Love that you can change it up when you are in the mood. Hair line is undetectable . Good job with the review, thank you.
Great review and you look 35 tops. You look great in the wig. Really excited & waiting for your upcoming reviews. Which two wigs you ordered by the way ?
Hi Nykohlus, hi from England again, well I had my edge wig cut and trimmed by a wonderful lady and it looks great. I’ve worn it every day just to get used to it and to get the hang of attaching it, I’m sitting here with red eyes after spraying the citrus glue dissolver in my eyes, so what’s next, as you know I’m a flight attendant, so tomorrow I’m going to take the plunge and wear it on my flight to Newark, is it going to be too hot, will my Crew notice, will the passengers wonder ? you have been an inspiration to me and the comment below mine sums it up, own the wig . I’ll drop you a note tomorrow evening when I get to the hotel and I’ll send you a pic from the flight, thanks as always, David
It looks great, I'm currently saving for the Edge wig by HIM (M17s). I have no problem being shaved headed with a bald patch at 33, but I do miss the fun of having a hair style and I do want a confident new look. I think there's a tabboo about men wearing wigs while it's ok for women to wear weaves or extentions. I'm very excited about receiving the wig. Christmassy feeling, the friends I've told say I look good as I am but are supportive of me having one. Can't wait! Thanks for the video! xxx
If you buy any more of these, please continue to vlog. Very encouraging to see your confidence. Im not sure if I'm brave enough to try it. Im a musician, so everywhere I go locally, someone knows me. Maybe I would wear one out of town where nobody would recognize me?...lol.
Damn, you look so good in this. Now, it doesn't hurt that you are so good looking, and have great bone structure, and as a result this style really suits your face. I love it. I'm nearly 70 and have had little hair since my mid twenties. Any suggestion of style for a guy my age. Any advice would be appreciated. In closing, I think you are really handsome, and this wig brings out your eyes.
That’s such a sweet and thoughtful comment. I wear a wig and I’m absolutely over the moon about it. It’s made me feel a lot better. I wear it in my last two videos I recently posted where I’m just singing lol. I wanna make a review video soon.
I think it looks good on you...and I'm a very fussy person! My only suggestion for you is that the lace line is obvious to me from your darker skin color. Women who know make up skills, and that wear wigs actually touch up and blend in the lace line. I think you should try this. I also think this would totally work for you. Again, please try not to worry about what others say or think.
Now that I've read all the reviews I tend to think some here are NOT being 100% honest with you...especially those that seem to be regular followers of yours. Not out of any meanness on their part, they just don't want to come off as negative. I love the OWN IT! advice. Its the best way to deal with your situation. If your happier with the wig...than not. OWN IT!
First of all you are a beautiful man !!! second thing I think you should consider growing a beard ... It will make that transition on the sideburns much less obvious :) and will give you even more confidence with the wig .
Thanks BLING! I would grow out my beard but it would only look right with a salt & pepper wig or gray wig because my beard is salt & pepper. And my hair is so course that it literally sticks straight out.
I agree...but I think BAD is a little harsh... but honest and realistic however. A little makeup to match his skin tone would greatly solve that issue, and then the wig would be near perfect.
I wouldn't say it look bad, the hair suit him (would be even better if it was real hair), but yeah, it looks like a wig if you look closely. You're never gonna get a 100% realistic result.. The key is to own it I think, which he does
