Fail, you need to use a new crush washer on the drain plug, and an OEM filter that has the proper oil gasket. Sorry, I have only maintained and raced Hondas since 1983. They’re great mechanically but you have to regularly maintain them, correctly. Yes, those under shield screws are a pain, try doing that at -20C…
Like I said, 300,000 miles on my 2015 Honda fit. Have never ever replaced a crush washer. Does not leak one drop. Sounds like you’re tightening it too much. Finger tight, then a little bump. Have never ever had a problem. Still runs like brand new. Mobile one extended warranty oil and filter. Up to 20,000 miles between oil changes.
I always fill my filter with oil before installing. Although the GR86 filter is upside down and will not be able to do that, probably "wet" the filter with oil at the point.
Did you have to use a new washer for the oil plug? Have 1200 miles on the car and was thinking of changing the oil to remove any metal shavings from the break-in period.
No!!!! You have to replace the washer every time you change the oil otherwise you’re gunna get oil leaks or because the washer is being crushed and used over and over again the bolt will get over tightened and than it will get stripped and you’re gunna need a new oil pan and I know this because I have a 2022 civic ex-l
It’s an if you want to great, if you don’t great. When I change my oil on my Hondas I try to fill the oil filter full of oil. It will take a few tries as the oil settles in. During the initial start up the engine seems quieter. Thanks for the video.
No, but I have noticed like a noise on that side that somewhat resembles a messed up speaker....but what's weird is it only does it sometimes and the speaker to my knowledge isn't messed up....weird tho.
OEM filter is only good for 5000 miles. Mobile one extended service filter, is good for 15 to 20,000 miles and it’s guaranteed. Same with mobile one Full synthetic oil .which is good for 15,000 miles guaranteed. My Honda fit, which is a 2015, is approaching 300,000 miles. It is a living testament to full synthetic oil, which is more expensive and well worth it. If you could change your oil every 15,000 miles instead of every 5000 miles, would you do it?
@@dascooten every 15k miles is just pure abuse on your motor. oil changes are stupid cheap... why would you not do them every 3k miles(especially for a sports car you are going to beat up on).
I have those particular car ramps. I have had my Nissan titan on top of these, to change the oil. Made of high-strength plastic and over a quarter inch thick, rigid and sturdy, I have used these particular car ramps for well over 10 years.
