2nd Gen has people just turning 30, so the early 90's is normal for 2nd Gen's younger performers. For example, people forget that SHINee is 2nd Gen and Taemin was born in 1993. He was 14 when he debuted, so Christian was likely around 17 when he debuted. C-Clown debuted basically at the end of 2nd Gen, so Christian was actually 22 years old at the time and was the leader of the group. They disbanded in 2015, though, and Christian started working as DPR Ian. When his voice deepens and is slightly distorted, it's Mito singing. Mito is the one who is missing an eye and you can also hear in the music sometimes when Mito comes out to put in his flavor. Mr. Insanity, on the other hand, is depicted with a high/distorted voice and his style of music is more whimsical, theatrical, or funky. It's actually really really cool. The more you follow DPR Ian, the more you'll notice it.

DPR Ian is one of my favorite soloists, he has an amazing discography. The amount of times I listened to Mood immediately after the first listen is crazy. Would love to see you check out his albums! DPR Live was the first artist for DPR as a collective and him and Christian are besties. DPR Live is a rapper though, a and his music has korean in it! Christian has worked on all of his music videos though. DPR Live has a song with Jae (from Day6) and a few songs with Hwasa!
Aww i wished you had watched everything in release order but love that ur getting introduced to him. -yeah Scaredy cat doesnt have mr insanity :) he actually isnt intoduced in christians music until later. The album MITO Is basically an intro to mito where as the next album introduces mr insanity. - yes Ian comes from his name christIAN lmaooo -I wanted to add that when christian helped form DPR he began as a director! Now he constantly takes a large part in the producing, editing, and direction of his music and music videos🤯 -Grey and black scenes usually indicates mito. Also if you see him missing an eye. For example in So beautiful and Mood and ribbon(during the miito movie) -peanut butter and tears is representing mr insanity!! The brightness of the mv and song overall plus the lightning to portray his high manic times. Also the mr green(the one in the green suit) is a character aswell thats pretty important to his storyline. -Christian actually goes into depth about the meaning of majority of his songs and his thought process while making them in his interviews and live streams. (He lives stream ALOT lol) I hope you can actually get into understand his storyline and messages because they are quite inticate and a big part of himself as a artist. Its kind of sad of how many people who gloss over it...
I kinda skipped the MV for "Nerves" (it's a really good song btw) and his new album (Dear insanity) is out and he released so many MVs for it! (Peanut butter and tears, So I just danced, and Don't go insane) (+ a visualizer for another song). I'm glad you like DPR Ian because he's honestly one of my favorite artists ever!
You missed a clip at the end of the MITO movie but I'm so glad that Ian's getting more and more recognition. He's such a phenomenal storyteller and artist, but he's also so genuine and wholesome. He truly deserves all the love and appreciation.

Omg yay Ian, hes probabaly my fav artist ever, just so talented. But i wanted to add he does All the directing and editing on most the mvs himself. I rememeber he talked about when Editing the Miito movie during the scene in 1 shot where hes controlling the sky and catching on fire it took him like 5 hourss to do like 1 second. Just so much hard work and creaivity. Also the reason Peanut butter and tears feels so different visually is because it comes from the dear insanity album which is about his manic highs while the previous two album are about Mito (lows) theres so much i can say about the meaning of the mvs and songs and how it connects not only to his bipolar but also his DID but i will leave it at that for now haha cause it's very complicated to explain
in so beautiful the black and white parts of the videos arent actually him acting its his him when he switches during his manic lows so its his "mito" alter his alters actually effect the songs he works on and changed it drastically

As a lucky(not) person who got bipolar type1 I am so so happy that I found DPR Ian. He is my favorite solo artist and so relatable. From other artists who have talked about DPR Ian I know Bang Chan from Stray Kids and Taemin (and I love them both so much). You also mentioned Ian from Shameless and I agree that he is very well written and acted bipolar character presentation. Another good one I would like to add to the list is Even from Skam.
He has released two album about Mito "mood swings in this order" and "mood swings into order" and there is a documentary named "memories in disorder" which is about how he made Mito movie and meaning behind each songs. There is an interview of him with zach sang and he talks about his bipolar disorder and his art. He recently revealed that he also has DID and talked about it in another interview. By the way he direct and edits all of his videos
8:14 it’s actually a trumpet I think. They can sound similar though but there was certain inflections in the solo that made me believe it can from a trumpet instead of a sax
So in his music videos you will see a lot of black and white scenes that indicate that It's not Ian but Mito (one of his personalities because in addition of having Bipolar disorder he also had DID : Dissociative identity disorder in short he has multiple personalities, the storyline is based on his life and It's pretty complex to understant but if you have time you can watch some of his lives where he explains the storyline!
For no blueberries he said sometimes in life there is some people or something that you don't like but you have to deal with them. Although it might be a small problem but it can become big and intolerable for you like blueberrie monster.
