Siyeon is a beast. She was a rock singer before and it shows. Welcome to the Dreamworld!

The Dystopia trilogy (Scream, BOCA, and Odd Eye), then the Apocalypse trilogy (Maison, Vision, and Bon Voyage), and maybe next the special release between storyline/trilogy, Deja Vu, the collaboration with mobile game, Kings raid, and BEcause, the inspired by the horror movie called 'US'. Oh, they do release an anime OST, Eclipse for King Raids anime. And finally, their fans song (song for InSomnias, DC fans) called REASON was so good that the first time we watched it, doing the headbanging, crying and smiling at the same time 🤟

"I am a little mad at myself I didn't check out the song earlier." You're not alone, many fans have said the same thing or something similar. When I first heard about Dreamcatcher and saw their name around RU-vid I kinda' ignored them cause I was already learning other groups. When I finally started listening to them I was kicking myself for weeks for not giving them a listen earlier. And now they're my favorite group, and this is coming from someone who follows many many groups. But glad you're on board!!!

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

Having been a Kpop fan for quite a long while, Dreamcatcher being super talented is an understatement to be honest. They are really the best girl group in so many ways and no one can beat their vocal as a group especially live performances. Dreamcatcher is the only group that I have a hard time finding a bias right away and still is today as they are all 7 bias material. They are also the only group that I like all of their songs including all b-sides. In fact my top 3 favorites are from their b-sides. Their vocals are insane and they are also the only group I know that members often switch their vocal lines & sing in turn by another member. Only a very strong vocal group can do that. And in Reason, they even switch rap line!

Siyeon (pronounced she-yawn) sang the first chorus in Bon Voyage you went back for, and the high run after the explosion, and the no-waaa in Boca with the vibrato, and she does that live during performances every... time... Just Siyeon doing Siyeon things. All the members bring something great to the group, though Siyeon and the rapper Dami are the easiest to notice right away. However anyone feels about Dreamcatcher's music, everyone acknowledges they created their own genre. There's no one else like them.

Most of the background high notes are from the main Vocalist Siyeon! She's my favorite vocalist in Kpop so far, with such an incredible and powerful voice.

Live stages make them shine even more. Their live vocals are really no joke despite the difficult and complex choreography, they always deliver. Hopefully you will check the live performance.

The beauty of Dreamcatcher is that it doesn't actually matter which order you hear their songs in. I understand that after watching and hearing any of their amazing songs, you could be worried how the next song is going to live up to that, but it always does. They always do. As I'm sure you've been told by now, obviously you need to check out Odd Eye next because it's the third part of the trilogy that Scream and BOCA started. And if you're still unsure how BOCA actually builds on Scream, especially visually: Scream is set in a quasi-medieval, fantasy "past", while BOCA with it's subway station vibes is set in the "present" (though they did bring the tree with them). From there you might know what to expect in Odd Eye 😉

As a remark on DreamCatcher title tracks: They can be overwhelmingly complex and they normally require multiple rounds to get the full meaning of the song, the lyrics and the visuals. I will use scream as an example here which is the 1st part of the Dystopia trilogy. Dystopia Trilogy: This trilogy talks about Cyberbullying and the power of language and how it can hurt someone if used in a negative way. It portrays their attempt at facing the Dystopian reality that is hidden in the world of social media. The center of the story is the tree of language that is turning black due to negativism after the curse of the evil language was released (depicted as opening Pandora's box in Scream) and the light provided by positive words fade out. The order of the title tracks is: Scream (Hear no Evil) - happening in the Past - Fantasy vibes Boca (Speak no Evil - Boca is the Spanish word for mouth) - Present timeline Odd Eye (See no Evil) - Futuristic vibes M/V: The dancer with the mask on is reserving the spot for Handong. (stuck in China at the time due to CoVid) In the M/V first you mostly see the members wearing white, that is their pure uncorrupted form and they gradually take on the black outfit after waking up to new world of hatred. The masks otherwise represent anonymity provided by social media. 10:02 is when Gahyeon breaks the container of the curse and negativism starts spreading (Explosion around the tree) It is also shown that this has happened some time in the past and negativism is ever since part of our society. (10:05 the ancient texts light up) 10:10 they point fingers at her for doing it. Similar to their other M/Vs like Deja Vu the storytelling is not linear. Anyway in Scream the members are already wearing black but still asleep at the beginning 7:59. ("My covered eyes are stained with blood") 8:37 shows the loss of the white form. There is even a transitioning outfit with JiU with White on top of black 8:39. The purple fog with the evil words 8:50 is the curse basically, the scenes with purple with black outfit are the corrupted areas. We see how the spreading works in the bridge when Siyeon is still wearing white 10:17 while the other six members are already in black and around the now corrupted tree (purple) and they walk away from her wearing some black already and in 10:36 she wakes up wearing black. It is also important to note that one of the important message is how the "Please I don't want to scream" turns into Siyeon eventually singing "I just want to make you scream", meaning that basically negativism corrupts people turning them from victims to perpetrators. 10:43 "Dami: and one by one everyone becomes crazy - again, US subtitle is better". And finally now all of them wearing black walk away. Additional comments to the performance itself: The Choreography of Scream is really hard, worth checking out the dance practice with fix camera for it.

As others have said the glorious seven simply have zero bad songs, and at this point quite an extensive catalog. You have discovered a truly amazing group here. To put something in perspective, they are one two artists tied atop my favorites, the other is a guy named Sullivan King, who produces metal infused dubstep. I say this to highlight that their music reaches well beyond the kpop fandom, as people from all ages and walks of life fall in love with Dreamcatcher. Also, don't sleep on the intro's to their albums, every single one is like 1min30secs of pure musical brilliance.

October, Dreamcatcher have Boca k-zombie version

You started with Bon Voyage, which is the 3rd in their Apocalypse trilogy - Maison is first and Vision is second. Scream and Boca are part of the Dystopia trilogy, based on Hear No Evil (Scream), Speak No Evil (Boca - Spanish for mouth), and See No Evil (Odd Eye). It's all commentary on cyber bullying, fake lives people show online, etc. In Boca specifically, the line "too many angels dying now" is a reference to all the artists in the industry who have tragically taken their own lives the last serval years. Everything Dreamcatcher has done is incredible. Their dances are phenomenal - you can tell they've danced with each other for years, and the choreo is 💋👌 I recommend everything, lol, but having to choose, I would say finish the trilogies, and then check out BEcause, Deja Vu, Rose Blue, and Silent Night. :) But no really, they're incredible. Nothing you choose will be a miss. Edit: I've just found your channel so forgive me if you've already seen them, but if not, I would recommend checking out ATEEZ. Dreamcatcher and ATEEZ have the same producers, and they're phenomenal as well! Especially Guerilla, Halazia, Inception and Hala Hala.

When it comes to performing in concert, Dreamcatcher is THE BEST, hands down! Their best songs aren't even title tracks. Their best song in concert is easily Silent Night!!! The power vocals are Siyeon. I have been fanatically following Kpop since 2009, I'm a former music teacher, professional trumpet player, choir master, and Gregorian Chant master, and I'm telling you that Siyeon is in the top five female vocalists in the brief history of Kpop. The last time I saw them in concert, Siyeon brought me to tears four times, because her voice is so powerful and commanding. When I say powerful, I mean it is so full of emotion, like the entire population of a peasant village asking for a crust of bread. When I say powerful, I'm not talking about decibel level, I'm mean powerful like a divine entity erupting from a human soul!!! Unless you have already done so, you need to do a three-song reaction to their beginning. First do Love Shake, when they were called Minx. They kinda bombed, and disappeared for a while. Then they redebuted as Dreamcatcher with two additional members, and their theme was horror. As your second and third reactions, do Chase Me, followed by Good Night.

I'm happy that I was able to follow Dreamcatcher since the very beginning, they are the best we have in terms of Pop+Rock mix. They really deserved more attention, however, it's nice to live their growth together with them and see more people recognizing them little by little 🥰

They've also done an English version of this (called the Farewell Version) if you want to hear it, it's pretty good, and the lyric video to it is really pretty.

I can say they're my fave group atm. They're insanely good, their choreos are so detailed and different from any other group, their vocals are the best in the entire industry, per say even the main dancer SuA could be a main vocal, not to mention Siyeon obviously...but the thing that I love the most about them is that their songs are anime material, they're perfect for both opening or outro. No one does it like them!

Dreamcatcher is unmatched

To fully get an idea who they are first you need to see them really dance and perform and you must hear not only title tracks but B-Sides (that we call A sides as those are insane good) To do this, I highly recommend the following 4 videos, all 4 are essentially dance performances, two are actually choreographed by SuA who is the main dancer of the group. Even if you watch all their title tracks these 4 videos will have the wow factor as the power of DreamCatcher is that they are really good dancers and performers and their music outside of the title tracks is super versatile. A music producer once said in a reaction that the genre of Dreamcatcher is K_Whatever_The_Hell_We_Want_To_Do and he was so right. As you may have already noticed, we InSomnia are an enthusiastic bunch, always happy to welcome new reactors and more then willing to -drag- help them into the Dreamcatcher rabbit hole. Glad you already noticed their incredible vocals, visuals and powerful choreography. When you start do delve deeper into Dreamcatcher (and I deliberately say 'when', not 'if') you will surely also notice their versatility. While all their title-tracks incorporate the rock sound that has become their signature sound, their b-sides are just as good (because Talent!) but cover many different genres from beautiful ballads, reggae, jazz, soul and EDM, to straight up metal. And yes, they absolutely shine with a live band. Another reason why their fanbase is as dedicated as is it, are the members personalities. In an industry that can rely heavily on popularity trends and image, Dreamcatcher have always been unapologetically their authentic selves with the support of their company. And their authentic selves are hilarious. Absolute professionals on stage, absolute agents of chaos off stage, which has made them much loved guests at variety shows. In short: Dreamcatcher, you come for the music, you stay for the members.
