Smart Cookies I can’t say. There are too many of them. But wait, I mean Mercury actually has the best voice, but it’s because people like it the most. What I meant is that there are people with a better vocal range. Steve Perry is an example. He has a better vocal range, but Mercury’s voice is like more catchy? You might know what I mean
Do the show must go on, Bryan May (the guitarist) didn't think Freddie (the singer/pianist) could sing it because he was very ill at the time. Freddie downed a shot of vodka and nailed it. One of their last songs before he died, and one of their best.
You need to look up Brian May. He's the lead guitarist. He's got to be one of the most interesting people on the planet....seriously. He has a PhD in astrophysics. He built his guitar Red Special when he was 16 out of things you find in a garage. Do yourself a favor and google him.
Glad to see People who aren't normally into this kinda music really appreciate a great vocalist and group such as Queen. One of the best vocalists of all time x
He said in one of his videos that while he doesn't normally listen to this type of music, he's down to listen to whatever and is open to music in general
same here I lost a brother (drowning accident) he was 20 and I lost a son in 2017 ( O.D.)he was going on 55 and the both loved Queen . and I feel close to them when I watch Queens
Would love to see your reaction to the official video to 'I want to break free'. 😂😂 Your jaw will hit the floor! Loving your reaction videos and open minded approach to your musical voyage of discovery 👍👍
Freddie is honestly widely known as one of if not the most talented singer of all time. Queens performance at live aid in 1985 at Wembley is hands down the GREATEST LIVE PERFORMANCE OF ALL TIME.
In my opinion, Wembley in 1986 was better. If you're also looking for the best version of Bohemian Rhapsody ( where he hit all of his high notes, especially the rock scene. ) search for his newcastle gig.
If you do nothing else in your life, you have to watch their Live Aid performance. Please please for the love of God do a reaction to that, 25 min but worth every second. It has been hailed as the greatest live performance of all time. Mind blown
Hey man! Love the vids! Funny story...Freddie uses the half mic stand because early in their career a mic stand broke and he had to carry it around. He decided he liked it...tragedy into destiny!!!!!
You know what is amazing. They had no ear pieces! It was just raw talent. Nothing to mask their voices! It was all done by Freddie. Then Roger and Bryan May, which is an Astrophysicists. This man is a Doctor! Very intelligent! They all were. Freddie was the front man but all of them made queen! Freddie had the vocals! I would've love to of been at one of their concerts!
Freddie Mercury's picture should've been in the Dictionary beside the word Rockstar, man! hahaha People who knew him said he was like that as far as how he dressed and carried himself before he was ever even in a band. So, yeah, the guy was born for it. Great voice. Love your reactions, and I'm glad you keepin it real. If some folks don't like your opinion, oh well. I personally would rather hear your honest opinion on songs. Some people get salty if you don't like the same stuff they do, but man, we're all different and like different things. Life would be boring if we didn't.
Freddie had a four octive range, he is considered the finest voice in history, rock to opera and did both, I'm 70 years old now, I loved them the first time around and now they've come back bigger, I LOVE THEM MORE Try "Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues, another stellar group, you won't regret it!
Queen and Beatles are great easy-listening bands. Both bands have loads of catchy hits. Especially Queen who basically wrote stadium anthems. Pink Floyd, on the other hand, is more progressive and not to everyone´s liking. They were not a hits band, but album-orientated band. Still, Queen were great musicians, they started as a progressive band in the 70´s and could write any type of music, changed genres a lot.
@@robusttj , agreed. I never really understood all the huge hype over The Beatles 🤷♀️, I guess everyone has their own opinions about that and I have respect for that as well. Queen in my opinion IS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS EVER... LEGENDARY!!!
Queen was amazing. Kids today don't even know that they know Queen songs, but as soon as one starts playing, they're like "Oh, this is a Queen song? I've heard it everywhere."
Don't be ridiculous. Everyone knows Queen, especially the obvious ones like this. When Bohemian Rhapsody or Don't Stop Me Now comes on in a club, everyone knows the words and everyone knows it is Queen. I'm 21 and Queen are one of my all time favourite artists.
His last video Days of Our Lives. Being a die hard Queen fan so hard to see what this terrible disease did to him. He was a brave man to do that video and him being in so much pain. Him saying his Goodbye is touching... I would suggest that video to show his dedication to his work and his fans.
I love that you have a smile on your face throughout the entire review. That's what rock and roll brings to the world is joy and happiness more people need to experience it
Love your Queen reactions. The half mic stand was an accident. Early in the 70s, Freddie’s mic stand fell apart and it became his thing. 🎤 You should react to early live Queen. Anything from Live at the Rainbow 1974 show.
As mixed as I am on the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, it just makes me so happy to see all the appreciation for my childhood hero Freddie popping up on trending from reactors like you
I appreciate real reactions. Pink Floyd many times is "listening music". It's an experience. But not all of it. Some of it you can really j to. Dark Side of the Moon is an experience. Gotta see you dig The Great Gig in the Sky. That song gives me chills every time.
You should definitely be free to say if you like or don't like any of the songs you react to. It's great to see you getting into stuff you haven't heard before. I enjoy your intelligent review and it doesn't matter whether at the end end you don't like the song. I've been a Queen fan since around the time of The Works album so watching you enjoy their music is fun.
Please Do a Video how he works and Audience!! Oh and they had a concert.and stopped and heard thousands singing along..Was AN AMAZING TIME FOR THEM!! They sing for the lone one at the end of the bar..or alone in the corner.. To ALL PEOPLE.. So they can relate and make it their song.. in whatever place they are in..In life..Truly a Legend!!
Watch their Live Aid set (20odd minutes). Considered the greatest live performance ever. They stole the show on 2 continents (live streamed to Philly football stadium).
I was a jkid when Freddy died. And I've heard some of Queen's music but I didn't know really the Queen as a band. After the film, I confess, I'm in love for their music, specially for Freddy! He is a miracle. He really knew what he was, he is! Man, it's destiny. He knew that he should have been what/who he was. Amazing.
“Comfortably Numb” in the context of the The Wall is much easier to appreciate. It’s fine as a single, it’s one of my favorite songs of theirs, but with the rest of the record informing it, it’s so much better.
A bit of trivia. Dr. Brian May, PhD (yes, he actually does have a doctorate in Astrophysics) and his father built the guitar he is playing. The neck is made from their home's fireplace mantle that was at that time, about 100 years old. It was completed in -- if i recall correctly -- 1964. And to this day, Brian still plays that guitar almost exclusively. Instead of a pick, he uses a British 6 pence coin.
i'd rather see real reactions. i love hearing different perspectives on stuff even if it's different than mine. one of the most feelgood songs from queen.
The thing with the mic started at his performance with Smile who later changed the name to Queen. Freddie couldn't get the mic to rise and in the process it broke and he performed like that ever since
you need to check out a song from queen during the iconic live AID Concert it is breathtaking a packed house open stadium mid day everyone singing along to the music plus it was the last big concert that queen put on before Freddy's death its amazing
I appreciate your genuine reactions; that's the whole point. Not everyone is a Pink Floyd fan - a lot of people consider them moodier and psychedelic if you will. Have you done Shine On You Crazy Diamond from Dark Side of the Moon? You might like that one. And believe it or not, everyone is not a Queen fan. With that being said, your reaction was just like mine when I first heard it in 1979. They - all of them including Freddie, Brian May, John Dean and Roger Taylor - are legends. Their music, like Led Zeppelin's, will stand the test of time long after I'm gone. THANK YOU FOR THIS!
I listened to this song when I was 5 or 6 years old by my father and other songs. after 31 years it continues to please and lasts after me for the next generation. It's good that his Queen music is still valued forever. Greetings from Peru
Here are a few you haven't reacted to. Show must go on, One Vision, Radio gaga, March of The black queen, Who wants to live forever, The prophets song, My fairy king,Prince of the univers, Love of my life, Too much love will kill you, Seven seas of Rhye, Inuendo, 39 (that's the name of the song) are just a few of the many masterpices written by Queen I'm in love with my car, Queen's drummer Roger Taylor wrote this song, sang on it and played drums on the track. Roger Taylor loved the song so much and demanded it to be the B-side of the Bohemian Rhapsody single ,that he apparently locked himself in a cupboard until Freddie agreed 😂
Loved your reaction! And yeah, I gotta chime in with the others..... You MUST watch Queen from 1985's Live Aid charity concerts. Freddie is the best frontman ever. Would love to see your reaction to that one. Stay cool! :-)
This was the exact song I ran to, to get my best running time in the military. I ran to it 3 times...it was on repeat and it was my best time at 9:23 1.5 miles.
I think Freddie used the mic extension because he had to put the mic down on the piano and play ....then go back to singing only. Without the mic stand the mic might roll off the piano....
