If he says that next time he sees you repairing anything just say "I find your lack of fate, disturbing" hahahah I will be awesome. May the force be with you
I share your feelings, but if she was told to sit tight and watch the movie without making a peep, she would lose interest and probably resent the movie. Gotta let kids be kids.
Васян Нирванов I feel you, but you gotta look at the comment above, she’s young, I’m sure she’ll watch the movie again and understand it better later. At her first time watching tho, you gotta let her do what she wants, she’ll have a better experience that way.
Battle Shark I swear... I knew nothing about Star Wars, except 2 things, Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father and Luke Skywalker kisses his sister Leia I must admit though that I didn't really like the movies when I did watch them eventually, as a 23 year old.
Battle Shark In first and second grade, some dudes in my school were super into star wars (the clone wars, atleast) and THEY didn't even know anakin was to become darth vader later on.
This was my kids - they have constantly heard that "I am your father line" not to know what was coming .... However the pure joy we saw on my daughters face when we were watching LOTR and she realizes that Gandalf was still alive - wish we caught it on camera.
Sounds like my old dog. His nails would click like that but I swear it was in time to starwars. Click click clickclickclick click click clickclickclick
exactly what i will do to my kids. “ewww that movie is like 50 years old.” ‘lmao you think you have a choice’ “i ain’t watching it” 1 month later “hey dad did you watch the theory about how rey is the father of the re-incarnated kylo ren
I can't even remember a time I didn't know this movie twist I've been watching and loving Star Wars my whole life I kind of wish I could be in her shoes and see it for a first time again
Michael Switzer yeah same thing all people talk about it that it's one of the biggest plot twists in history and i can't take part of it although i'm a really big star wars fan
Michael Switzer i only watched one movie when I was about 8 years old now im 21 and i really want to watch them all now but a buddy toll me you have to watch them in a specific order to really know whats going on. Can someone tell me in wich order i have ro watch them please? Would be awesome :-)
Yeah, it’s awesome that Star Wars became so popular, but also a shame that it’s *so* popular that very few people get to experience the first 2 films wholly un-spoiled now. I had the good fortune to be a 12 year old when the first movie came out, and when watching this scene in the 2nd film in theaters, the entire (fully packed) theatre of people gasped loudly. It was amazing! The whole experience was amazing
I have seen many kids' reactions to this scene on RU-vid and almost all of them are the same: *Girl's reaction:* OMG really?! *Boy's reaction:* Processing... Processing... Error. Processing failed.
If I was darth I wouldve played that victim card so hard. Like "I was also hurt by the Jedi, my son. Join me, son. And together we'll be the realest MCs in the galaxy" lmfaoo
Lol me and my brother are such geeks my parents actually regret showing us star wars; now we know more about it than they do It got worse when they thought star trek would be a good diversion
Actually i did. Star trek had a lot more depth in how their universe worked while in star wars it was "coherent light and somehow-visible energy eheheheh" Don't get me wrong star wars was amazing. I just like Trek more :/
I always like watching these reactions, because for a lot of the kids it's not only learning the twist, but it's also them learning for the first time that sometimes the bad guys win. I mean she was shocked when Luke's hand was cut off, but then looked at her dad to confirm that "that just happened?"
Her reaction is priceless :3 .. By the way, come on people. She's just a kid. She obviously has curiosity about everything, and for that reason she asks a lot of questions.
saNMan PR Vlog Well, Star Wars isn't actually in 4K quality yet, so I don't know about that. Sure, maybe it has upscaling, but barring that, I'm gonna assume that it's just a very nice-looking HDTV. :)
You wouldn't see the difference on this RU-vid video anyway. Even if the video itself is 4K (I can't tell on my screen), the TV only takes up a fraction of the image.
Just watched TESB again last weekend. You always remember it as a good movie, but you forget just HOW good it truly is. Clearly, the most superior of all Star Wars movies.
My girlfriend just watched the whole saga for the first time due to the quarantine. I wish we hadn't done 1-9. Her reaction to this scene was still awesome, just like your daughter's.
John Peltrau I found these movies by myself when I was 4 years old, my grandmother wanted to teach me the art of filmmaking from a very young age. She took me to the only videostore that was in my city and one day she let me choose what to see, so i picked up Return Of The Jedi, Aliens and The Thing, well i guess Ive always been attracted to sci fi. I can give myself the joy of saying that nobody showed me Star Wars, it was the force that showed it to me.

...and it almost didn't happen! During the entirety of filming and within the script, the line was "No, Obi-Wan killed your father." Only two people in the entire production knew the truth from the get-go: George Lucas and director Irvin Kershner. So, when you see the exchange here, it's actually actor Mark Hamill responding to actor David Prowse saying the line "No, Obi-Wan killed your father." And since James Earl Jones did all of his lines for Darth Vader after filming, _no one_ in the cast knew until the film came out in the theater! _Star Wars-_ let alone "A New Hope"- was never created with everything figured out. Indeed, Darth Vader was originally just _one of many_ loyal military generals and enforcers under the command of the Emperor when Lucas envisioned him for the first movie, _not_ the sole and most-trusted right-hand man that we now all know him to be! Also, the writer of the first script for _Star Wars II-_ Leigh Brackett- died just after completing her first draft, but Lucas didn't like it. It was because he had to take over the scripting duties that the story for _Star Wars II_ was completely rewritten and Lucas came up with a new idea that Vader would claim to be Luke father. The historic familial twist was intentionally added in post-production, but it changed everything. REMINDER: The first _Star Wars_ movie _was not_ called "Episode IV", but rather *_The_*_ Star Wars - A New Hope_ It wasn't until the release of _The Empire Strikes Back_ that the now common "Episode __ " numbering was added. If you go back and look at the earliest film reels of _A New Hope_ (which are _incredibly difficult_ to find intact 40 years later!), you will see that the opening scrawl _does not_ have the words "Episode IV" in it!
This comment thread of people whining about a girl asking questions illustrates how suppression of thought occurs. Props to the parents for nurturing her curiosity and giving her the freedom to ask.
I don't mind people asking questions. I love discussing movies. BUT, I like discussing the movie AFTER the movie has finished. I am one of those people that absolutely hates when people talk and ask questions as the movie is taking place and they miss dialog or other details. I don't know how many times I have had to rewind the movie and tell the person "listen to the movie and maybe you will find out".
Papa Prophet There is a huge difference between calling a young child 'cute' and finding them attractive. Or perhaps, I am missing the point and It takes a Pedo to know a Pedo?
At first I was like, "Please stop asking questions little girl," but then I was like "Don't worry, self, her mind is about to be blown." And it was. This actually brought me to tears. Can't wait to have that moment with my son.
Best order is the Machete order: 1-4-2-5-3-6. That way you get them attached to young Anakin, then surprised by the Vader reveal, then you get hit by the Luke and Leia reveal right before RoTJ, raising the stakes further before the final turn. As for the new trilogy... you’re on your own there
I started watching star wars for the second time with my little cousin, he says he loved it, and now every time I say hello there he answers with general kenobi He is my favorite cousin
All parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents should do this with their children, nephews, nieces, grandchildren etc. Because those 4 words from Darth Vader are probably one of the most historical moments in cinema history.
