I just bought this exact bike as a second bike. I am very pleased with it. I live in a country setting and it works really nice on mixed terrain. On the highway, I am surprised at the torque, and it cruises at 70mph no problem. My other is a sport bike and of course it doesn't compare at higher speeds but that wasn't the reason for buying it. I wanted a comfortable cruising bike, but for a longer highway trip it is fast enough, controlled, and comfortable.

Love the paint on this bike, just sitting in triumph now and exact bike here. Great engine and like you I wanted something to hit the country lanes so bought a Bonneville 👍

Nice review. My questions is the lack of available options of cruise control, tubeless tires and a two-sided luggage solution. They could be profit centers for Triumph (other motorcycle manufacturers are just as bad, with the Japanese perhaps the worst), and more customed tailored consumer purchases seem to be the wave of the future. I bought a Goldline SS in January after having my 2020 version nicked and written off. I liked it that much I had no hesitation in buying another one.👍 Pretty much exactly like the old bike and the Euro 5 spec doesn't seem to have cost any performance. I can see the point of an "offroad" mode to disable ABS and TC on the rough stuff if you must take it off road (at your peril!) but "road" and "rain" on a 64hp bike? Come on!😂 I found progressive fork springs a big improvement. A LED bulb in the headlight also makes a big difference. Lights are functional items so I'm not bothered about the "classic" look of a yellow beam. I did get caught out with a rear flat, 40 miles from home on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago. I think Triumph dropped the ball here with tubed tyres, tubeless would have made minimal difference to the OTR price IMO. Just make sure you have roadside recovery! I added a few extras like Aluminium sump guard, alloy shorty brake/clutch levers, engine protectors, engine dresser bars and a couple of LED spotlights. A Monza style cap like the one on the Scrambler 1200 would have been nice. All in all, one of the best Classics in the Triumph range IMO.👍

As a long time mountain biker, I’ve gone tubeless on my wheels. We use tape rather than a normal rubber rim strip and it works just fine. The tire would have to be designated tubeless though.

I got my CB1100EX spoked wheels converted to tubeless by an Italian firm, Bartfactory. They did a fantastic job vulcanising a rubber like seal which has proven to be 100% airtight. Triumph seem to be making a big deal of the Goldline for 2022, almost like a last splash. One might imagine a mass change to tubeless on the classic range for 2023 as the next logical step from Triumph? Guzzi made that change on the 850TT which must of made it a more attractive proposition.

Nice review, interesting about the different modes, I have a GS 1250 and road/dynamic solo riding are good but two up so much smoother in rain mode. I also have a 750GS and one or two up hopeless in anything but dynamic. Much too soft in either road or rain to the point you can feel it almost stall when pulling away, manageable on my own but two up especially making a left turn bit scary.

Yes the rain mode is just a smoother throttle map on many bikes, sometimes i even put them all to rain mode as they bikes feel so much better. The choppy throttle is a thing of the fuel injection, ride by wire micro switches these days. Much prefer a cable connection. I had a 2006 ZX10R a few years back that thing was buttery smooth on the throttle.

Thank you so much for the review, I’m looking into buying a classic and I am going back and forth between this very model (a left over from last year) and the new speed twin 900. How do you feel about the former which remains cheaper? I would be mostly commuting but sometimes going up a short gravel road to the cottage. I’m not a big fan of the cast wheels when it comes to the look, but I feel a tubeless setup remains a better proposition.

I would be surprised if you needed to stop to change the modes. When flashing on the Tigers it just means it is a pending change, rolling the throttle off should accept that pending mode.

Don’t have to stop, correct the flashing means a change. At least on my T120, I’m sure it’s the same.

Hi, First of all thanks for your reports, they are great. I have 1 QUESTION: I am going to buy a TIUMPH SCRAMBLE 900 and it will be my everyday vehicle, does the exhaust pipe burn the leg, I live in Catalonia and since May it is hot 30º and July 36º Does the pipe gives a lot of heat at that time? Hi Pere 👋 thanks for tuning in, so I am U.K. based and during the 2 weeks I had to test this bike weather was cold. I really didn’t notice an issue with the exhaust. I have heard some people in hotter climates do take out the cat as that’s the part restricting exhaust gasses making the exhaust hotter. So may be something to look at in future. If you were sitting in traffic in that heat maybe a little hot, but moving wouldn’t be ridiculous

Hi Denis, yes it is! I actually went a size up on this one and would recommend buying from in U.K. sports bike shop as they are great if size wrong and swap quickly. I also use the Edale jacket from Merlin for colder days. Love the quality

@@MOTOUK1 it looks great. Merlin are good quality at a reasonable price (considering the quality). On my list, and yes, SBS is my go to usually. One in the town (now City) near where I live.

hi i got a 2023 scrambler 900 and my dealer only had one with the matt khaki green fuel tank. i am not that keen on the colour of the gas tank and want to swap it for a jet black tank. do you know where i can purchase just the fuel tank part ? cant find anywhere online that has it..

Only dealer could have sell a jet black tank. Probably easier to have someone spray it

"has the same engine as the T-100"? Are you sure? The SS has a very low torque curve, flattens out at 3300-3500 RPM. It's very noticeable on a freeway. It's the only thing I really dislike about the bike. Is the T-100 a 5 speed also?

Yes same engine just different map. Yes t100 is 5 speed
