One minor addition inside the rocket could be a manual automation switch for the mini gas pump, would save having a dupe run over to turn it on and off
Yes! This is way better than what I came up with for my rockets. I hadn't considered doing one for research and telescoping. My first rocket I just pumped air in and put it in containers to dump out when the dupes used all the air in the space and the pipes. I'll have to have a play around in the next colony I build to see how soon I can get oxylite!
You do not want to put the oxylite container on the floor. All packets of foreign gases will be overwritten by oxygen. On the plus side, everything that is not oxygen will be eventually destroyed. On the downside is that the oxylite will continue to offgas beyond the 2 kg/tile, resulting in popped eardrums
Yes, but it gets around the fact that they need some type of O2 to breath. Also to your next point this is a spacefarer module without carpet and does not seem to have even medium morale.
@@deatho0ne587 You have 6 morale from great hall, 2 from washroom, 1 from barracks, and 8 from berry sludge, total of 17. That's plenty for a couple dedicated dupes, even if you ignore interested skills. Give the pilot rocket 2, which with prerequisites costs 7. Add in atmo suit skills for 6, total 13. For the telescope/operator dupe, you need 3 for research skills and 7 for atmo suits. You can then pick up the first couple tiers of operating skills for 3, and you're just at 13. Now add in a couple points for interested skills, and you have no problem getting High Morale. I do take issue with some of Nilaus' design choices here, but his design is fundamentally sound. Specifically, I would prefer a dedicated rocket for data banks and a dedicated rocket for telescoping, using sugar engines with a small gas tanks and a couple solar panels for their available height. This saves on oxylite, and avoids the overpressure issues entirely. That said, this isn't a Brothgar-style duplicant torture chamber, so my "complaints" are differences in preferences, not actual flaws in this design.
Has something changed with room requirements .. i set mine up exactly like this all good except no great hall as it says there are conflicting buildings .. but does not provide any info on which building is causing the conflict ... does the party phone need to be in a rec room now and not in great hall/mess hall?
Nice design for a beginner like me afraid of space. We don't see the CO2 evacuation working on the video but I get the idea. Always bottom right ok. Popped eardrum is mentionned with this setup. Any way to improve that ? It's not necessary but I hate watching my poor dupes suffering... (must imagine myself as a benevolent god ^^). The initial chlorine release is clearly annoying.
